Joe POV
'Pull over.' I heard a whisper from next to me, but couldn't quite make it out, so kept driving peacefully.
'I SAID PULL OVER JOE!' I slammed on the brakes, earning a few honks from behind us, and hastily pulled into a lay-by.
'What's wrong Di?' She was crying and shaking a little, holding her phone close to her chest. I gently removed it, and saw the notification on the screen.
'It's okay,' I said whilst unbuckling my seatbelt and wrapping my arms gently around her, 'we'll be fine.' Just as I said this, I glimpsed in the wing mirror, and saw a familiar face. His face.
'Dianne I've got to drive now.'
'Can't we just-' I didn't let her finish her sentence before I revved the engine and pulled out onto the main road. Soon we hit traffic lights, with us making it across and Anthony getting caught up. Rapidly, I took a shortcut down a dirt road I would use if I was being chased by paps, and continued to drive along it until we were in the civilisation of Bath.

He was gone. For now. After the text, Di relaxed slightly, and we were able to check into the Air B&B, a gorgeous countryside cottage. When we got in, I lit a fire, and we snuggled up on the sofa.
'How are you feeling?'
'Better knowing he's not around.' We shared a comfortable silence for a moment.
'I'm sorry Joe.'
'What for?'
'For dragging you into this mess. You don't deserve it.'
'And neither do you Miss Buswell, which is why I am here to protect you.' She let out a muffled giggle, which made me smile knowing she was happy.
'That's what I like to hear.'
'What?'
'My girlfriends happiness. Now whaddya' say I show you around huh? The town square?'
'Sounds like a plan, Joesph. Thank you for making me feel better.'
'Anything for you. Now go get ready so I can show off to you how many roofs I've thatched.' She laughed quietly, and went off to get ready, emerging a few minutes later.
Dianne POV
'I'm ready!' I said as I finished tying the laces on my white Gucci trainers. Joe took my hand and we left the cottage, making sure it was securely locked before starting the short walk to the square. When we arrived, I was in complete awe of the size of the square, and the huge Christmas tree standing in the middle, which Joe filmed me walking up to. We sat for dinner in a small restaurant which Joe and his family swore by, taking a corner table for two. We spoke about random things, laughing most of the time, until we addressed the elephant in the room.
'So' Joe started
'So'
'What happened today? Why is he going after us?'
'I may have told a little white lie...' I trailed off, deciding to come clean.
'What?'
'Well... Anthony didn't break up with me.'
'What do you mean?'
'I broke up with him because I thought that I liked you. Obviously, I did, and I wanted to break it off so that I didn't feel bad.'
'Okay, What did you tell him?'
'I said that I like someone else.' He leaned back, taking a deep breath.
'Well, that explains it I guess' he laughed, trying to make light of the situation.
'I'm sorry, I didn't know he'd-.'
'Di, stop. It's not your fault, okay, you did the right thing, he's just taking it like an ass. Let's just not worry- what's the worst he could do?' We didn't say anything more about it, and continued to laugh and joke around, until midnight, when we called it a night and headed back, going to sleep straight away in each other's arms, not a worry in the world.
So he's stopped bothering them... for now...
