Dianne POV
We stood outside Evie's flat awkwardly, exchanging the odd glance before looking back down at our feet. When the door opened, we both looked up simultaneously, taking in what was about to happen.
'Joe? Dianne? You're here...' Evie trailed off.
'Yeah, we, er, we are,' Joe replied shakily, 'can we come in? Please?'
'Um, yeah, of course.' The whole situation was very uncomfortable, but we proceeded to enter anyway. The inside was basic, but plush enough to call home. Joe started the conversation.
'So... you and Oli broke up huh.'
'Yeah, we, er, we did. About 1 month ago.'
'Over me?' Her face turned white.
'Evie why? I'm in a happy relationship, we're getting married, why would you do this?'
'I just... I thought we had something that's all. I know I was delusional.'
'Well your ex framed me for shoplifting over it!' I chimed in.
'Did he?! Dianne I'm so sorry I had no idea.'
'I know you didn't, it's just... what's going on?'
'Look I don't know too much. All I know is that I heard AJ on the phone to him the other day, when I went to his flat to get some of my stuff. They were talking about you.'
'The phone call we heard Joe... what were they saying?'
'I didn't hear much, but I heard AJ say just do it, and Oli reluctantly agree. I think they might have been talking about that incident.'
'I- I don't get it. AJ? And Oli? I'm so confused.'
AJ POV
'Curtis, get me my phone would you?'
'Look, AJ, in the current state that your in, your not going to reach the end go-'
'Shut Up Curtis. That might have worked on your little girlfriend, but it's not going to work on me. Phone. Now.' He passed me my phone, a look of disappointment spread on his face. I dialled the number, and it picked up almost immediately.
'Anthony, man, how are you?'
'Yeah, I'm good. Still under the radar. You?'
'Doing alright. The Oli plan worked, and now Dianne is suspecting something with him, which buys us some time. I'm thinking of launching Operation Amy before the main event. Sound good?'
'Perfect. Catch you later.'
I hung up, and picked up my Fiji water, taking a long, well deserved sip.
'Curtis, set up Operation Amy. It's go time.'
