This is gonna work slightly differently. Basically, we've skipped to before the fire and we are now gonna see it from Joes and Anthony's POV, it's gonna be the same time, but it's gonna flick between the two. It'll make sense when you read it :)
Anthony POV
It was a simple plan. It couldn't fail. Pasquale would text Dianne, she'd leave, I'd enter their flat, start the fire, walk out again and lock joe in with his key. Perfect.
Joe POV
I woke up abruptly to the closing of the door and Dianne gone from next to me. I was worried, so quickly left to follow her.
Anthony POV
I watched from around the corner as Dianne left, I looked around me before sneaking in. I couldn't see anyone, so I assumed joe was upstairs. I scraped the match against the sandpaper, creating a small flame that soon hit the tea towel. The scene was set.
Joe POV
I had walked a little bit of the way, before remembering that I had left the door unlocked. These days, you can never be too careful. I hurried back, twisting the key in the lock, before racing back to continue following Di.
Anthony POV
The fire was already spreading, so I took it as a cue to leave. I walked up to the door, smiling back at my handiwork, before pulling down on the handle. Nothing. I tried again. Nothing. The door had locked. I searched around frantically for a spare key but found nothing, stepping farther back so as to avoid the flames.
Joe POV
When I reached the bottom of the building, I saw Dianne walk towards a familiar man, however I got stopped by some fans. We took pictures, and they seemed to talk for ages. When they finally left, I looked over to see Dianne crying on her hands and knees. I walked up behind her, noticing that the mystery man was Pasquale.
'Dianne? What the hell happened? And why are you on the floor?'
'Joe?'
'Yes?'
'OH MY GOD, JOE!' She flung her arms around me, and I returned the hug, still confused.
'What's happening?'
'There's a fire! Anthony started it. I thought you were hurt.'
'Aw, don't worry, I'm okay but- where's Anthony?' As if on cue, a stretcher was pulled out of the blackened building, Anthony's lifeless body laying on top of it. Dianne covered her mouth in shock, and I approached the paramedic.
'Is he? You know?'
'Not yet but... it doesn't look great. He was in the flat where the fire started. 769.'
'769? It can't be, that's- don't worry.' I walked away, in search of answers from Pasquale.
Dianne POV
He told us everything. The fire. The locked door. Joes death.
'So let me get this straight.' Joe started, addressing Pasquale,' Anthony was waiting for Dianne to leave to come to you knowing I'd be asleep, however I wasn't asleep I'd actually left, but then whilst Anthony was in the flat I locked him in even though he thought he'd be locking me in? Got it.' It was an elaborate plan, risky, that seriously, seriously backfired.
Ooooooh, So Joe was fine, but Anthony's plan backfired hugely. Will he survive, or will their greatest problem be solved?
Thank you for nearly 17,000 reads, appreciate it soo much :)
I managed to write one of these late last night, coz I felt bad for leaving you on a cliffhanger, so here's a short chapter explaining what happened, I hope it makes sense, if not feel free to ask anything in the comments, and I'll clarify it for you :)
