Cody felt kind of... bad about bugging all those people, but he had gotten good information. He had stayed up all night on his montage of computers that made up his listening device, finding out information on random people and scientists and-

He yawned. That all-nighter hadn't really done anything for his health. Plus, he felt kind of lonely and isolated. He had also started to become really caught up in this whole mystery thing. It was truly... interesting! He felt the same rush he did when he watched detective-type shows. He also really needed a shower.

Seb had signed up for the army, and he seemed really excited about it. Cody only knew about it because Seb muttered to himself whenever he worked out at that exercise machine he was so addicted to. It was kind of weird. Then again, Cody shouldn't be judging oddness since he pulled an all-nighter listening to random citizens he bugged...

Cody decided to get a shower after listening to one more person. His hygiene was really bad at this point so he drew a bath. And then fell asleep in it...

Finally waking up, Cody decided to find the curio shop, wherever it might be. He had talked to some conspiracy theorists and decided he would search for it too. It seemed interesting. After all, it was called the curio shop...

He wandered over to the trailer park next door. He wondered who lived there... suddenly, he felt lucky to have a house and not have to live in a crappy trailer. He wandered towards the bar, still in search of the curio shop. Nothing. Shaking his head, he stalked off towards the library. Still nothing. He wandered around the town square, in the ally behind the bar, the other allies... still nothing. At this point, it was 2 P.M., so Cody decided it would be best to head home. And just as he was heading home, he saw the curio shop to the right of the trailer park. How stupid had he been? He mentally kicked himself for being that dumb. It. Was. Right. There. He walked over and spoke to the owner.

"Um... hi." Cody said.
"Helloooooooo, sir, and welcome to the CURIO SHOP OF A LIFETIME! My name is Erwin Pries and I will be your humble-" the curio shop owner said.
"You can cut out the nerd introduction. I just want some curio." Cody said, feeling awkward.
"Oh... well then we have a selection of-" Erwin started.
"Can you just show me the stuff?" Cody asked, starting to get annoyed.
"Oh... yeah." Erwin set a stack of posters, a few spy bugs, some books, some weird sculptures, a few different colored lava lamps, some... carnival sock aliens?, and was that... the weird fruit?
"I'll take one of everything... except that weird glowy red thing." Cody requested.
"Sure, that'll be about... $950?! Well you just PAID MY R-" Erwin went off again.
"So," Cody cut him off, handing him the money, "What's going on with this place?"
"Well, you could start with-" Erwin started. Again.
"Just something basic, please. I don't have time for this..." Cody said.
"Fine. Well then, have you noticed those weird purple glowy plants around town? They're weird... stay away from them. I've heard-" Erwin's voice dropped to a whisper- "scientists have been running tests on them!"
"Cool. Thanks for the info and the curio." Cody nodded appreciatively.
"ANNNNYYYYTIME GOOD CUSTOMER, COME BACK, ANNNYYYYY-" Erwin started, but Cody walked away for he could finish. Stashing the newfound supplies in his backpack, Cody headed off towards the town square. He wanted to talk to a few more conspiracy theorists to find out what was going on here.
Sure enough, one was waiting around the corner.
"Hello, I-" Cody started, but the theorist had already gone. He found a military personell on the corner of the street when Seb came running over.
Seb ran over and hugged a dark skinned, pretty, electric blue haired woman on the street. This woman was Macy Datta, his au pair for most of his life and aunt. Cody looked away from Seb and went up to a man on the street.
"Hello," He shook hands with the man, "My name is Cody."
"Oh, hello," the man said, "I'm Julian Wurth."
"Oh, it's so good to meet you!" Cody said. He was getting better at lying.
He hugged Julian, planting a bug easily on his back. Cody let out a small breath of relief. He had managed to bug another person.
"Nice to meet you!" Cody said, walking away, but he bumped into someone; physically. He recognized her as the lady next door, Jess Siggworth. She was married and had a kid, Christie. He waved his hand in front of her face but all she did was jerk her head back, scaring Cody. His first impulse said to plant a bug on her so he did. It barely took him 30 seconds before he was socializing on the street again.
"Hey, Seb." Cody said, walking over to him.
"Oh... Hi." Seb replied.
"How is Macy?"
"Fine. Airi just became 8."
"Oh, cool. Airi is her daughter, right?"
"Yeah. Airi's only met her dad once or twice. He's a real jerk. You know what's worse? He still wants to be with Macy!"
"Oh, wow. That's messed up."
"Very. Poor Macy."
"Yeah. How d'ya like StrangerVille so far?"
"Oh, it's really good. Especially the food."
The food? Cody thought. Thinking back, they hadn't eaten anything, and the bar hadn't served anything in the first place. So what was he talking about?
"Like what food?" Cody asked.
"Uhm, duh, the fruit. It's amazing!" Seb said.
Fruit? The heck? Hold on a second, was Seb talking about the glowing red stuff?
