Emilia stared at the hotel before her with a surprisingly calm look on her face. The brokenness and the hurt that had been surrounding her all day was now replaced by anger and hatred towards whoever had taken her brother. She had a feeling it was those two intruders from last night and the wound on her arm throbbed slightly at the memories.

The sound of the motel lobby door opening snapped Emilia out of her thoughts and she turned to see Patch walking out. She frowned at the sight of the woman, but quickly dismissed her feelings. Her brothers were more important at the moment than some girl she was jealous of.

Patch looked up from her watch and stopped at the sight of Emilia standing there with her arms crossed in front of her chest and a smirk on her face. "Hey there, Eudora," Emilia greeted. "Emilia?" Patch questioned. "What are you doing here? Is Diego with you?"

Emilia gritted her teeth slightly, but kept a calm expression on her face. "No, he's not here. I'm not quite sure where he is at the moment but I heard you needed backup, so here I am," Emilia said. Patch stared at the girl for a moment before sighing.

"I guess it's better than nothing. Stay behind me though, okay? You don't have anything to fight with and I'd rather not have a pissed off Diego on my ass if you get hurt," Patch told her. Emilia just smirked. "Don't worry about me, Detective. I'll be just fine," she responded.

Patch gave her a confused look before turning to walk up the stairs near the two. Emilia looked down at her hand that seemed to flicker with flames and smiled before she quickly closed her hand and followed after the girl. If anything, Patch should stay behind her.

The two walked up the stairs in silence before making their way down one of the hallways. Patch glanced over at the girl a few times and Emilia sighed in annoyance before asking, "What?" "Are you okay?" Patch asked softly making the girl tense up and look to her with wide eyes. "What? Of course I am. Why would you ask?" Emilia questioned.

"You just look upset. And don't try and lie to me and say everything's fine. I'm a detective remember? I know when people are lying and the look in your eyes tell me that you are far from fine," Patch told her. Emilia stared at her in shock before shaking her head.

"No, I'm not fine," Emilia admitted. "But that doesn't really matter right now, does it? You know what does matter? My brother. So stay out of my business and do your job, Detective."

Patch sighed and looked away from the girl. She knew Emilia was only hurting. From what, she wasn't quite sure, but something told her it had to do with Diego.

The two fell silent as they walked down the hallway before turning a corner and waking down the new hallway. Emilia knew something was up the moment she walked down the hallway. It was like something had gone off inside her head and she hesitated for a moment as she looked down the hallway with wide eyes.
