Chapter Twenty Five: The Belly of the Beast

Meanwhile on Murguol, Jack and his group had arrived at the Dark Palace. It didn't take long at all. The prison they were held at was only an hour away from the Dark Palace.

When they arrived, Jack's jaw dropped. Standing right in front of him was a huge black fortress. It was the biggest fortress Jack had seen on Murguol. It looked like a pipe organ, but it was made out of black metal. It was black and expanding, making it hard to find the ends of each side. It was menacing and evil. It also looked kinda cool.

Unlike the other parts of Murguol, this place was in fact swarming with warriors. It seemed as if everyone across Murguol had gathered to this one spot. There was an army of trillions surrounding the palace, patrolling every inch. Drow ships were coming in and out of the Dark Palace. Entering this place wouldn't be easy, for sure.

"Well, we're here. We made it to the belly of the beast," said Jack.

"This is it, let's go find Waldo," said Resizagirl.

"If only Waldo wore a shirt and hat with stripes of red and white, and a pair of glasses, I wouldn't be so tensed up. Guess it's too late for a Where's Waldo joke," said Jack.

"So, what's the plan?", said Resizagirl.

"I dunno. I can assume that this won't be easy, for sure this time. Shadowking is probably waiting for me to enter that building. It's probably likely Waldo will be fully turned, so we might need to knock some literal sense into him. But still, there's no way to get past the legions patrolling this place. The sheer size of it is incomprehensible. So that's why Vanessa and I will pretend to surrender to the legions of Murguol. Then they'll take us to a prison of some sorts. Meanwhile, Resizagirl will shrink very small and go unnoticed. She will break us out and then we'll find Waldo. Then we'll attack Lord Shadowking and take him down," said Jack.

"Are you sire that's a good idea? If Shadowking has been analyzing us this whole time, don't you think he'll expect a plan like this to unfold? He'll play along with us and then take us down when the time is right," said Vanessa.

"Yeah, he's probably expecting you to pretend to surrender. He's probably expecting me to shrink and rescue you. Face it, he knows our every move," said Resizagirl.

"Yeah, I don't think it's a good idea," said Vanessa.

"I know, but it's our ONLY idea. We have nothing to lose, or everything to lose. Either way, we're in this together," said Jack.

"Then let's do it. Here goes nothing, or everything," said Vanessa.

Resizagirl shrank to the size of a breadcrumb.

"I'm ready," said Resizagirl.

"Let's go walk to our deaths," said Jack.

Vanessa and Jack went alone to the Dark Palace.

The massive army guarding the Dark Palace saw them. They pointed their weapons at them. They stared at them.

There was a Drow commander with a megaphone.

"They're here! Get ready to fire!", said a Drow commander.

"Wait! Don't fire at us! Attention bad guys, we surrender!", said Jack.

"Drop your weapon!", said the Drow Commander.

Jack dropped the Sword of Exzar.

"Put your hands in the air!", said the Drow commander.

Jack and Vanessa raised their hands.

"Get down on your knees!", said the Drow commander.

They knelt down while still keeping their hands up.

"Surround them!", said the Drow commander.

Ten Drow soldiers marched towards Vanessa and Jack. They surrounded them.

"Hands behind your back!", said a soldier.

They put their hands behind their back. The soldiers cuffed Vanessa and Jack.

"Move it!", said one of the soldiers.

He kicked Jack off the floor. He grabbed Jack's shoulders. Another soldier kicked Vanessa off the floor. He grabbed her shoulders.

"Anything you say can and will be used get you killed! This is it, end of the line!", said the Drow commander.

The Drow marched Vanessa and Jack towards the dungeons of the Dark Palace.
