"Run Boy Run"
A young Eleanor was sat in her room at the academy. She was sat on the window ledge, feet hanging out the open window, admiring the view and wondering what the outside world was like.
The sound of a bell ringing interrupted her thoughts.
"C'mon Elle." A voice came from her door. Turning around, Eleanor spotted Klaus and Ben in her doorway.
"I'm coming, I'm coming." The girl replied, hopping off of the window ledge and shutting her window.
Eleanor rushed after her brothers down to the dining room.
Once in the dining room, Eleanor stood behind her chair in between Klaus and Ben. The young girl smiled at Diego who stood opposite her.
Soon after, their father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves walked in and instructed the children to sit down.
The children all started eating in silence, as that is what their father's instructions always were.
Eleanor looked to her right to see Klaus rolling a joint. She had to stop herself from giggling as she would definitely get in trouble. 'Classic Klaus,' she thought. 'Always getting himself high.'
Suddenly Five shoved his knife into the table, causing everyone to jump in shock.
"Number Five?" Reginald questioned the young boy.
"I have a question."
"Knowledge is an admirable goal, but you know the rules. No talking during mealtimes. You are interrupting Herr Carlson." He referred to the tape they listened to every meal time.
"I want to time travel."
"No."
"But I'm ready." Five insisted. "I've been practising my spatial jumps, just like you said." Five got up from his seat and jumped so he was next to Reginald, proving his point. "See?"
"A spatial jump is trivial when compared with the unknowns of time travel. One is like sliding along the ice, the other is akin to descending blindly into the depths of the freezing water and reappearing as an acorn."
"Well, I don't get it." Five simply said.
"Hence the reason you're not ready." Reginald told him.
Five looked at Vanya, who shook her head at him, silently telling Five he shouldn't do what he was going to do.
"I'm not afraid." Five stated.
"Fear isn't the issue. The effects it might have on your body, even on your mind, are far too unpredictable." The old man paused, putting down his knife and fork and turning towards Five. "Now, I forbid you to talk about this anymore."
As Reginald Hargreeves went back to eating, Five turned and ran out the door.
Eleanor turned and watched him go, upset that her brother would just leave them all so suddenly.
"Number Five!" Reginald called after the boy, "You haven't been excused! Come back here!"
But of course, Five didn't go back. He didn't go back for a very long time.

The next morning, after Klaus had walked her home from the bus stop that Diego had dropped them off at, Eleanor decided that she would head to Allison's room and spend some quality time with her sister, as they hadn't spoken much the previous day.
