"Ah! So you've already gone to see Jim?" Jace grinned as I stepped into his room.

"Who?" I asked, flopping down on the end of his bed, dropping my bag on the floor.

"Jim! The hairdresser?" Jace said.

"Oh! Yeah, I went a few hours early but managed to get it done quickly," I said.

Jim huh? How... Stereotypical.

"He did an amazing job! You can hardly tell the difference between us anymore!" Jace laughed, ruffling my hair.

I slapped his hand away and glared.

"I'm only doing this for the term! Once it's over I'm growing it out again!" I snapped.

"Jesse! Whatever did you do to your hair?"

Suddenly, I was hit in the head with something hard, falling over on top of my brother in a daze.

"Mum! Please! Don't hurt her it was my idea!" I barely heard Jace cry.

"Jace, sweetheart, you don't have to make excuses on her behalf," I heard my mother reply sweetly. "She deserves it for disgracing me!" she added in a heated tone, one that registered in my mind as a tone that meant she would murder me soon.

"No mum! I swear I'm telling the truth! Please just let me explain! Don't hurt my sister damn it!" he sobbed as my head began to clear.

"Alright then, spit it out!" our mother snapped as I sat up and rubbed the back of my head.

And, so we explained what was going on. Or at least, Jace explained what was going on. I sat and watched our mothers facial expressions change from anger to shock to surprise to... Seriousness.

Once the story was complete, she met both of our gazes equally.

"Are you both sure you wish to go through with this?" she asked.

We both nodded.

"Even though Jesse will not be able to gain anymore proper education?"

We both nodded again. Our mother sighed and dropped her head in her hands.

"I guess I can't tell you not to do it since you are both so serious about going through with this," she sighed.

Jace and I looked at each other and smiled identical smiles.

"But," she added, looking up at me. "How are you planning to hide your chest? You’re still growing, and if you are like I was, they will grow a lot in the next year, at a very fast rate,"

"It's only a term, they can't grow that quickly. But, we aren't sure how to hide them yet either," I replied honestly.

"I see," she sighed, "don't you worry. I will get it sorted for you. But until then, show me what you have to wear; you must dress the part after all!"

Jace and I were both extremely surprised at how well our mother was taking this. And we were also surprised at how supportive and helpful she was too. It was almost scary.

I grabbed my bag and changed, not bothering with the bathroom considering we were all related. I threw on the red shirt and black shorts and waited for my mother’s opinion.

"Put the jeans on instead," she said.

I rolled my eyes but did as I was told. Once I was done I stood and waited again. The silence spaced out, and my mother’s assessing gaze wasn't helping my nerves.

"It will work," she finally said and Jace and I seemed to let out identical sighs of relief.

"Though I will be coming with you next time to get more clothes, three will not do," she said.

"Thanks mum," I said with a small, nervous laugh.

"I should be heading off," she said, looking at her watch. "I will come visit tomorrow Jace, and I will be expecting a meal when I get home Jesse," she added to the two of us.

We both nodded and she headed to the door where she stopped and looked back at me.

"I'm proud of you Jesse, for doing something like this for your brother," she smiled softly at me before leaving.

Jace and I were both in a stunned silence. Did she really just say she was proud of me? Woah that was definitely a first. I chuckled softly before going and sitting on the end of my brother’s bed.

"I guess all we have to worry about now is hiding these," I said, patting my breasts.

"I still don't reckon you have to worry about it," Jace sighed. "I mean our so flat chested you can basically already call yourself a guy,"

"Jace," I said threateningly.

He laughed and waved his hand.

"Stop worrying Jesse, I'm only kidding!" he laughed.

I rolled my eyes and laughed too. I could never stay mad at him for long, and he could never stay mad at me for long either. I guess it was a twin thing.

The next day, I was dragged out of bed at some ungodly hour of the morning (like, really early... It was blooming 3 am!) and thrown into the shower.

"Get ready Jesse! We are going shopping!" I heard my mum laugh from outside the bathroom.

"It's 3 am mum!" I whined. "There are no places open this early in the morning!"

"Trust me Jesse, your mother knows what she is doing!" she called back, and for some reason, I wasn't reassured.

I sighed and got undressed, slipping into the shower before turning it on. As I washed my hair with shampoo, I marvelled at how different my hair felt. It was so short and easy to wash; I think I liked it.

After I was finished, I turned the water off and got out and grabbed my towel. My hair dried very easy and I just liked it even more. After wrapping the towel around my body, I headed back to my room to change. It was only then that I realized my mother had laid out clothes for me on my bed. The same jeans and shirt I had worn yesterday to show her.

I sighed and got dressed quickly before hanging my towel over my doorknob and heading downstairs towards the kitchen.

"Oh there you are! Come on then, time to eat!" my mother smiled.

"Mum! I can't eat all of this! Do you know how much weight I will gain?" I snapped, staring somewhat longingly at the huge plate of food before me.

Don't get me wrong, I could easily eat it, but my trainer at the gym always told me not to, and I trusted his judgement.

"Come on Jesse, if you’re going to an all boy’s school, you better get used to eating like this! And besides, I've done my research, that school has a lot of physical components, so you will be able to shed the weight just fine," she said. "Now sit and eat," she snapped, pointing the tongs at me.

I did as I was asked, finishing the huge plate filled with several sausages, eggs and bacon, along with three pieces of toast and a large glass of orange juice with ease. I smiled and patted my stomach happily.

"That was amazing," I sighed. "But if my trainer finds out I'm dead,"

"I'm sure he won't Jesse, now come on, brush your hair and we are heading out!" she snapped, shooing me back towards the staircase.

"Alright, I'm going, I'm going!" I said, slowly heading up the stairs. There was no way I could go against my mother, so it looked like we were going shopping at 3am in the morning.
