I heard many people says how time passes fast when they do something fun but when you do nothing the time tortures you with it's slow pace. But to me it wasn't either of them in fact yesterday my Sunday turned to Monday in a blink of an eye. I did nothing seriously. The same routine of waking up, cleaning, cleaning yourself, studying, going to work then what to eat then sleep. I had nothing to do yesterday except to complete my pending work and to be honest I was glad to find some time for myself. Yesterday was just my time and my friends. After coming from the cafe which Kim told me I had to come at my usual time. I come late at night and Amy and I spend it watching a movie. Doing my previous routine reminds me how I don't do it often now.I get ready and stuff my mouth with waffles that Amy made. I tie my converse and we both get ready to walk for college. I am more of a school girl than a college girl. I have found it since I stepped into college life. It's not like I have an immense hate for it. I like it, I do complete my work on time but for me school was great. I would rather get up early to go to school than college. In school it was unpredictable. You don't know when your teacher decided for a surprise test or to give you a free period. When your principal decides to fill your ears with long speech. When your boring period suddenly merged with another P.E class or some library time. When your school throws you a competition or silly projects. It was good. College is more like a routine to me just like going to work.
Amy and I both stop outside waiting for Julia and Selena. I lean on her as we wait. I stifle a yawn and place my head on her shoulder.
“Sleepy?” she mumbles as her hands go around my cheeks and pat me.
“Mhh.”
“What were you doing last night? Doing work late at night? Since when your work remains pending. Yesterday it looks like you haven't done anything in like three days.” she says. I was questioning that too to myself when I was working. I may not like a nerd that buries herself in a textbook but I never had any pending work. I usually complete in time to avoid a late rush. But since few days I gather pending work alot and I had to complete it last night.
“Work. I hardly got time then after that I—got tired of doing anything. Didn't you see the amount of dust I collected yesterday from our apartment. God.” I mutter while straightening my jacket. I had to put it on again. I pull Amy towards a wall so I can properly put my head on her shoulder. She shakes her head amusingly.
“Holla.” Julia beams as she walks towards us with Selena. She passes us a greeting smile and we both return it.
“Did you know my roommate Helen?” Selena begins as we walk inside the campus. We halt in our usual spot by the pillar as we usually do to talk in gap of five minutes. We all nod at her.
“Yeah?”
“She is pregnant.” Selena squeaks. Her blue eyes are growing bigger. Amy suddenly jerks forward letting me lose my balance. My head hit lightly with a pillar and Julia's startled expression from Selena news turns into a grin seeing me. I glare at her while rubbing my head and stare at Selena with shocking eyes.
