“Can you not call them and ask to come early?”
“I don't know if they need me early because before me a guy worked there but I could try.” I tell Selena and press the remote button frequently to find anything that suits my eyes.
“Yeah please try it will be good if we go together rather than you come on your own.” Julia says and I switch off the T.V.
Today is Saturday morning and we three are in my apartment. Last night they stayed here after Amelia left for Florida luckily she found the flight on time. Today there are no classes but a party is. They told me to ask Coaster Cafe if I can work early, so that around 7 or 8 I can be free and go with them to the party. To be honest, I really wanted to go with them instead of going on my own, otherwise It will be like last time where I have to find them. I pick my phone and scroll through Kim's number. Funny I had her number instead of my boss but he told me she is incharge too plus she likes me so I can convince her if there is any slight chances of me getting free early.
“I am calling.” I inform them and put the speaker on my ear. Around three rings later she picked.
“Hello good morning Kim.” I stand from the couch and walk to the small glass window that shows the outside road, eight floors above.
“Good morning what happened? Why do you call at—10?” She sounds confused.
“Uh—Kim I was wondering—”
“If you can get a leave?” She suggests.
“NO. No I mean no off. I was saying if I can come early like two hours before my original shift.” I bite my lips anxiously for her response.
“Early. Why? Going somewhere?” She asks, to which I nod but then I realize we are talking on the phone.
“Yeah today is no college so my friends were planning on going someplace so I have to be free around 7:30 or 8 but if I can't then it's okay.” I say truthfully.
She tells me to hold on and I wait.
“What happened?” Julia mouthed and I put my hand on the speaker.
“She is checking I guess or may be talking to Mr Parker.” I shrug and put my phone back on my ear. After two minutes I hear some shuffling on the other side and finally her voice.
“Evanna I talked to Parker, he told me that Theo wants to go early too so yeah you're on. You're lucky. Come around 3.” she says. A smile appears on my face and I give thumbs up to my friends.
