"Daddy, let's go pick some flowers!" I yelled.

"I want to stay with Mommy though, Serena. We've been playing all day," Daddy replied.

"But... but it's my sixth birthday! Pretty please with a cherry on top?" I asked, staring at Daddy with my glistening eyes.

"Okay, only if Mommy goes with us," Daddy answered.

"Yay! Family trip!" I cheered, running to Mommy's room.

I always had a hard time opening Mommy's door because the doorknob was so high. I managed to jump and hold onto it, though. I turned it to the right and pushed the door open.

"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" I chanted, running in front of her television screen.

I jumped over the Pokémon battle, and she groaned. She was sitting on her queen-sized bed. There was a little white bench in front of it.

"What, sweetie?" She asked, irritated. "I was watching the championship game. It's Diantha versus Steven."

"Mommy, Daddy said that he'll only go picking flowers with me if you come with us! Can we please go?" I replied.

"Tell Daddy that I'm not going. I told you that I have to watch this battle today, remember?" Mommy answered.

"But Mommy, it's my sixth birthday! Don't you want to congratulate me being six?" I asked.

"Oh, fine. Let me make sure the match is recording." Mom smiled.

"Yay!" I cheered.

I sprinted out of Mommy's room and went to Daddy.

"Daddy, Mommy's going to go!" I smiled.

"Really?" Daddy asked, surprised. "Okay then, I wasn't expecting that. You amaze me every day, Serena."

"I know I do!" I chuckled.

Daddy was watching the Pokémon game too. His green eyes were staring at the TV. He left the white, leather couch behind, and walked towards the front door. I followed him. When we got to the door, we both saw our tennis shoes. We put them on and smiled at each other.

Mommy came from behind us, and she smiled.

"Aren't you guys the duo?" She chuckled.

"Sure, Grace," Daddy laughed.

"Let's go!" I yelled, opening the front door.

I dashed outside. The Kalosian air blew my honey-blonde hair all over the place. I just chuckled and smiled.
