Elijah's POV After finishing up for the day in the office, I packed up walking towards Lia's office to see her Skyping Mrs. Chen on her laptop.
When I walked into her office and she didn't even notice me because she was so deeply involved with the conversation they were having.
So I just sat quietly and patiently waited for her to finish.
"Hold up Granny who was that? Lia suddenly yelled.
"Calm down child that's my friend that I met on the first day of the trip" I heard her Granny say through the laptop speaker.
"Granny but friends don't walk out of another's friend's cabin bathroom with just a towel around his waist" Lia used her fingers for effect when she said, friends.
"Nalia my darling he's a very nice person he was very persistent when I rejected him in the beginning but I finally got to know him when I accepted a date with him. Child I have grown to like him very much" Lia leaned back on her chair and sighed.
"Ok Granny I want you to be happy so I'm not going to block your happiness" Lia smiled then it turned into a serious expression.
"Granny call him over here I want to see him," Lia asked with a stern voice.
"Ok but don't scare him away Child" Mrs. Chen warned her.
Lia just smiled sweetly with mischief in her eyes "I'm not going to do that" She finally looked up from the laptop screen and noticed me her smile grew wider.
"Hey, I didn't notice you there" Lia waved her hand for me to come closer.
"Sorry, for keeping you waiting" I leaned down to kiss her lips.
"It's ok, Love" She got up from her seat and pulled me down to desk chair and sat sideways on my lap.
"Eric please come over her my granddaughter wants to talk to you" Mrs. Chen called out to the mystery man.
"In a minute Michelle, I have to look presentable," The mystery man said with an English accent like mines in the background.
Mrs. Chen brought her attention back to the screen "Hi Elijah how are you doing and I hope you are treating my baby well" She greets me. "Hello to you too, Mrs. Chen and you don't have to worry, I'm treating her the way I promised" I placed a kiss on Lia's forehead.
"What did I tell you? Please just call me Michelle" She pleads with a smile.
"Thank you, Michelle, you have a beautiful name" I smiled back.
Michelle started squealing like a schoolgirl clapping her hands while jumping in her seat.
"I'm so happy for you two so don't mess it up both of you" I nodded with Lia hiding her face in my chest and inhaled my sent.
"You smell so good Elijah, it's calming" Lia whispers barely audible.
"Thanks, baby girl" I smirked.
The mystery man finally came to view and I was honestly surprised to see that it was my godfather who is my dad's best friend.
"Uncle Eric?" he looked just as shocked as I was at the moment.
"You two know each other?" Lia and her Granny said at the same time
"Yes Michelle, Elijah is my godson his father and I are best friends" Michelle nods her head in understanding.
Eric Smith and my father have known each other since they were little primary schoolboys.
Uncle Eric's wife died ten years ago due to cardiac arrest and since then he never looked at any other woman because he loved her with all his heart.
They had no children together so he treated me like his own son.
I guess his heart started to beat when he laid his eyes on Michelle.
"That's great Mr. Eric, now I have to interview you to see if you are really the nice person my Granny deems you as. Do you accept the challenge?" Uncle Eric chuckles at Lia and kissed Michelle's blushing cheek.
"Challenged accepted little one" We all laughed at Lia's pissed off face when he called her little one.
After 20 minutes of interrogating uncle Eric, Lia finally gave her blessings and wished them happiness but not before threatening Uncle Eric.
then she cut off the video call to an end. "Ready to go?" I ask her and she meekly nodded.
We walked out hand in hand and drove to Lia's penthouse which was surprisingly close to my building.
I looked over to see Lia was fast asleep 'she must have been exhausted' So I decided to drive to my building which was 2 streets away from hers.
So we can go get some of her clothes tomorrow morning.
I parked the car and went over to her side of the car carefully picking her up.
I got on the elevator hitting the penthouse button.
After the elevator ride, I unlocked my apartment pressing the code numbers on the door.
Walking into my bedroom I laid her on my bed and went into the closet changed and picked out a light blue shirt for Lia.
I thought she might feel uncomfortable to sleep in her work clothes.
Hopefully, she doesn't kill me in the morning.
When I started unbuttoning her shirt I had to gulp because the view of her delectable chest had my downtown growing.
I had to stop every second because it was so hard for me to change Lia without having dirty-minded thoughts.
'She's my girlfriend and I need to respect her' I finally got my act together and changed her out of her clothes and into my shirt.
I went downstairs to get some water and walked back into the bedroom climbing into the bed.
Lia shifts towards and unconsciously laid on top of me, her head on my chest and our legs tangled together.
I soon drifted to deep contented sleep.
