Two months after the first book......
Boruto's POV
I ran down the village streets, the darkness surrounding me. I was focusing on a silhouette before me. I reached my hand out and grabbed their shoulder. "Who are you?" I asked as I stopped. "Why must you ask, child?" The unknown and mysterious character before me asked hoarsely. "Who are you and what are you doing in this village!?" I shouted. "Child, you're overreacting. I'm only here for a visit." The deep and somewhat scary voice remarked. "I'll ask you one more time....who are you and what do you want?" I asked firmly, pressing a kunai blade to the silhouette's neck.
"I am Orochimaru. I'm here to declare a war." The voice said as the so called Orochimaru vanished.
My footsteps echoed through the Hokage tower hall as I sprinted to my fathers office. I finally opened the door. "Dad. News." I said. "What's up?" He asked. "This man named Orochimaru. He was in the village. I asked him what he was doing in the village and he....declared war." I said. "He did what!?" Dad asked in disbelief as he stood. "You heard me right. He declared war. He vanished before I could harm him. I'm sorry. I wasn't fast enough." I apologized. "No.....the man is know for being the snake he is." He growled. "Call Sasuke." He added. "Sir." I replied.
"Naruto. You needed me?" Sasuke asked as he came into the room. "Orochimaru has declared a war. To us." "What!? I thought we were on alliance!? A treaty!" Sasuke shouted. "I guess not." Dad said. "What do we do?" Sasuke asked. "We need to notify the other villages ASAP. We can move from there." Dad replied. "Boruto! Go home! Quickly! Orochimaru is known for trying to take Uchihas!!!" Sasuke said. "Sir!" I said as I sprinted home.
I got home and woke Sarada. "I'll get it...." she mumbled. "No, dear, it's not the babies. We need to talk about some safety." I said. "Later...." she groaned. "No...we need to do this. Now." I said. "Boru, I'm exhausted. Can't this wait!?" She asked as her voice raised and she sat up. I hugged her. "It can't. I'm sorry." I said. "Ok. Talk to me." She said as we released the hug.
"He declared what!?" She shouted. "Shhh....we don't want to wake the babies. But, you heard me correctly." I said. "I can't believe it.....how will I be able to help!? We've got the babies!" Sarada asked, fear filling her eyes. "It'll be ok. There will probably be a shelter for the children, elderly, and babies. The elders of the village or anyone who cannot help in battle or in the medic field will be in charge there I'm guessing." I said. She cuddled up to my chest. I stroked her hair to calm her. "I'm gonna protect you and the kids. No matter what." I said.
The next morning.....
"Sarada!! Get the babies! The Hokage assembled everyone! We'll have to bring them for the meeting!" I shouted as I slipped my shinobi vest and ninja sandals on. "Coming!" She shouted. She came out in a casual outfit. I grabbed her vest. "Put it on on the way." I said. We were already running late. The babies wouldn't settle down and the message to us arrived late.
We walked down the streets. Sarada got her vest on as I held the babies. She finished fixing it and adjusting it and asked for the babies, who were screaming in my arms, back to settle them. I handed them back and fixed her collar. "Sorry, I'm not very good at settling them down." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck. "It's ok. Not everyone is good at everything, Boruto." She said as she gave me a kiss on the cheek.
The babies had finally settled once we got to the office. Dad decided to take them and somehow he calmed them. "Is everybody here?" He asked as Sarada's father took Sakudo and Dad kept Itada. "Yessir!" We replied. "I've called all of you to meet about the declaration of war called on by Orochimaru. We are no longer allies with him if you couldn't already figure it out. We've sent the other villages a message so they're aware and prepared." He said. "If you don't mind me asking, how can we begin preparing for this?" Sarada asked. "Well, we need to stock up on medical equipment, get a large shelter set up somewhere for the elders, children, and babies, and if you guys could do as much training as possible that'd be terrific. In the meantime, nobody will have any missions." Sasuke said. "Sir!" We shouted. "You are dismissed." Dad said. Everyone walked out as Sarada as I stayed.
"So, how are you two and the kids doing?" Sasuke asked. "Eh....the kids are just fine. Sarada and I are more exhausted than anything." I said. "We can watch em if ya want. I'm sure Hinata wouldn't mind." Dad said. "Thank you so much, Dad." I said. "No problem. You two go rest." He said.
We got home and immediately ran to bed. We looked at each other and sighed. "It's been a while since we've actually been able to get rest. We'll need it before the war." Sarada said. "Yeah....." I said. "What's on your mind?" She asked, worry flooding her eyes. "It's just....I'm afraid what might happen to Itada while we're in the war......" I said.
Flashback~
It was right after Sarada gave birth to the twins. We only got one of them back. It was Sakudo who was fine. "Hey. Where's our daughter?" Sarada asked me. "I don't know.....let me ask." I said as I walked away from my wife.
"Dr. Uchiha?" I shouted as I looked for her. "Yes? What is it, Boruto?" She asked. "Where's the other one....where's my daughter?" I asked. "Boruto.....lets go to Sarada so I only have to explain this once....." she said.
"Sarada?" She asked as we got into the room. "Mom! Where is she? Where's Itada!?" Sarada asked, sitting up and holding Sakudo. "Calm down. I need you guys to listen to me fully. Your daughter is in the intensive care unit right now. After Sarada have birth to her, she became sick and it seemed like it was hard for her to breathe properly. We have specialists on the scene as we speak. We need you to remain calm and just trust me and the other doctors." She said. Sarada had her hand over her mouth, tears spilling down her face. "I need to go back. I love you two." She said as she gave Sarada a kiss on the forehead and walked to me. "Just make sure she stays calm please." She whispered in my ear.
End of flashback~
