Boruto's POV
We waited for Sakura and Tsunade to arrive as I sat in a chair next to Sarada's bed, which was surrounded by Shisu, Dad, and Sasuke. I held her hand anxiously, bouncing my leg. Wow. The last time I bounced my leg so much was when I first discovered my feelings for Sarada. Interesting.
We were all very anxious to get the transfer done. "She should be here any minute now. She's running late." Sasuke said as he got off the phone with Sakura. "Alright." Sarada said. I squeezed her hand lightly as I looked into her onyx eyes. I stood up and kissed her forehead. "I'll be back." I said as I walked to the hall.
Come on, answer me..... I thought as my phone just kept ringing as I waited for Mom to answer. "Hello?" She asked. "Hey. Um, are you with the kids?" I asked. "Yes, why? Didn't your father tell you?" She asked. "No.... I gotta go. The transfer is about to start." I said as I saw Sakura running down the hall to the room I was outside of. "Ok. Call me when the transfer is done." She said. "Ok. Love you." I said. "Love you too." She replied as I hung up.
I walked back in the room with Sakura and Tsunade. "Are you guys ready to start the transfer?" Tsunade asked. "Yes, ma'am." We replied, everyone but Sarada. "Sarada? You ok?" I asked as I walked back to my seat and held her hand. "J-Just nervous and anxious. That's all." She stuttered. She never stutters unless her anxiety is terrible. I guess it is. "It'll be ok. I'm going to be here he whole time." I said. "And don't forget we are too." Sakura said as she looked behind her to Sasuke, Shisu, and Dad. A small smile crept up on her face. "I-I'm ready." She stuttered again.
We began the transfer. Starting with drawing my blood, Sasuke's, Shisu's, and Dad's. We each got about two small tubes of blood taken. "Alright. Sarada, we're going to put you asleep for about two and a half hours." Sakura said. "O-Ok...." She said, her breath shaking nervously.
She was finally out. The transfer part of it began.
Two hours later...
We had about a half hour before she'd wake up and the transfer would be complete. Shisu, Sasuke, and I waited outside of the room where she was having the procedure done. Dad had to leave for another meeting for the war set up. The door opened and I stood up immediately. "She's almost done." Tsunade, who had just walked out, said. We sighed in relief that nothing bad was happening. "She's got some guts, I'll tell ya that. Not a lot of people want to do the transfer. They just don't think it'll go well. They don't trust Sakura to do it. She's actually amazing at it. It would take me four or five hours, she takes two and a half. Looks like she's surpassing me as I get older." Tsunade laughed.
We waited and waited for Sakura to walk out, telling us we could come in and see her. "Nervous?" Shisu asked me. "A bit. Not really nervous....more anxious for my girl to get up." I said. "I'm a little anxious too. More eager than anxious." Sasuke said. "I mean, I'm not worried at all, I trust Mom will do the best but I just wanna see my sister." Shisu said.
This is probably the most open conversation I've had with the two Uchiha men......even just Sasuke and Shisu in general.
The door opened slowly. I stood up again. Sakura was looking down and wiping sweat off her forehead. "How'd it go?" Sasuke asked, walking to his wife and hugging her with one arm. "Completed. She should be up in about five minutes." She smiled. We all sighed in relief. "Awesome! Are we allowed to go in yet!?" I asked. "Yeah, just.....make sure she stays as still as possible. I don't want the stitches to tear." She said. "Alright." I said as I walked in followed by Shisu and Sasuke.
"Hey, so, the transfer is done. She should be getting up any minute now." I said into the phone. "Alright. Want me to bring the kids?" Mom asked. "Yeah, thanks." I said. "No problem. I'll be there soon." She said.
We waited at her bed for her to get up. Mom was bringing the kids for Sarada and I. We were so lucky she didn't work. "Come on....." I whispered as I held her hand. Her eyes opened. She sat up a little more as we sat in silence. "How do you feel?" I asked. "Better. Thank you guys so much." She said. We all nodded. She began to adjust. "Be careful. Your mom doesn't want the stitches to tear. She had to do them differently for where she did the transfer." I said. "Alright." She said.
The door opened, Mom walked in holding the kids. "Sakudo! Itada! Thanks so much mom!" I said, taking the kids. "No problem, Boruto." She smiled. I handed Itada to Sarada because Itada was much more calm than Sakudo. Sakura walked in with Sasuke to check on Sarada to make sure she didn't need to give her any medicine. Sasuke stayed for a bit after Sakura left to help more patients.
Sasuke's phone rang and he stood up and took it in the corner of the room.
"Hello? Yes, this is......Yes........Of course, but-......I understand. But that means.........Alright........bye." He said between the conversation.
"What was that about?" Sarada asked. "Sarada, I'm very sorry. I know I promised you that I wouldn't take any more long missions but......I have to take this one. I am so sorry." He said as he walked over to her. "I understand. Just.....be careful and come back alive......" Sarada said. "I will." He replied, kissing Sarada's forehead. "How long will it last?" She asked.
".........A year......." He said with a shaky voice.
"Please be safe. I love you. By the time you come back.....you'll have another grandchild so keep that as a possible motivator." Sarada said.
"Alright." He said.
Hope y'all liked it!!!!
