Boruto's POV
I sighed as we all looked at the reanimations in front of us. Orochimaru, being the cowardly snake he is, retreated for healing, leaving us to fight the reanimations first. The spy force have been looking for the source of the reanimations so it'll be easier but nothing has been discovered yet.
"We should split up into large groups, fight each of the reanimations in groups. Since we have about 256 shinobi on the battlefield and about 9 reanimations.....we'll need about 29 in each group." Shisu said. "Alright!" We replied, mainly all of us anyway.
We split into groups, ready to attack. My group consisted of Shisu, me(obviously), Shiniki, Kankuro, Gaara, Mirai, Metal Lee, Shikadai, Kiba(who had Akamaru with him) and a bunch of other shinobi from other villages who I didn't know. We were up to fight the first reanimation.
No way.
In front of us stood a woman with long red hair.
"I-Is that my.....grandma?!"
"Mirai!! Come with me!!" Inojin shouted as he lowered his bird. "Alright." She said, leaving us to see what Inojin needed.
Mirai's POV
"Inojin, what did you want?" I asked. "It's better if you see for yourself. Your Mom is already there." He said, not looking back to me.
We landed. I saw Mom next to a few other people. I jumped off the bird, Inojin staying so I had a way to get back. "Mom!!" I shouted, running to her. She turned to me. "Mirai. Come here." She said urgently. I ran faster as I finally got to her. "Dear, y-your father.....he's here. He's reanimated but he's here. I want you to meet him." She said as we turned to him.
"Asuma....this is Mirai.....she's our daughter." Mom said. I immediately hugged him. "Dad......I'm so glad I get to meet you...." I cried. He hugged me back with one arm, the other on my head, running fingers through his hair. "I can't believe it.....we have a daughter...." he said.
"Kurenai, listen to me. I know a jutsu where you can free me from the jutsu but keep me alive. Shikamaru should be able to do it. We'll need four more people after him." Dad said. "Ok, Mirai, go get Shiniki, Shisu, Shikamaru, Shikadai, and Gaara please." Mom said. "Right." I said, running back to Inojin to get everyone.
I gathered everyone and we met up with dad. "Shikamaru, you know what to do." He said.
"Right." Shikamaru responded.
They were in a circular formation as Mom and I stood back. They started the jutsu, a green light, casting around Dad's feet. "Alright! Here we go!" Shikamaru shouted. They started to weave hand signs. They put their hands on the ground and began the jutsu.
Dad began shouting in pain as the jutsu got half way through. "Almost there, Asuma! Hang in there!!" Shikamaru shouted.
The jutsu was completed. Dad came to us, Mom crying in happiness. They hugged each other. "I missed you so much." He said as he kissed the top of mom's head. "I missed you too." Mom said into his shoulder. They released the hug as Dad turned to me. "I know you don't know me well. I hope we can be together and act as family." Dad said. I sprinted to him and hugged him.
"I always dreamed about being with you one day, Dad." I said, crying into his shoulder as he hugged me back and put his fingers through my short hair. "Mirai......ah, Kurenai, you chose a beautiful name for a beautiful girl......" Dad said as we continued to hug each other. "Mirai?" He asked. "Yes, Father?" I asked.
"I love you, Mirai."
"I love you too, Dad."
Kurenai's POV
I sat with Asuma at my usual post for the war setup. "So, you've been here?" Asuma asked as we sat down together. "Yes. Oh! Sarada! Come here! I would like you to meet someone!" I said. Sarada walked to me. "Asuma, this is Sakura and Sasuke Uchiha's first born daughter, Sarada. She's married to Naruto and Hinata's first born, Boruto." I explained. "Ah, I see. I'm Asuma. Those two yours?" He asked, pointing at the twins in her arms. "Yes, another one coming pretty soon here. This is Itada and Sakudo." She smiled. "Beautiful." Asuma said, a smile that I haven't seen for ages fall upon his face.
Sarada's POV
I sat at my post, waiting for Boruto. He was supposed to be visiting me to get updates on the baby and to give me battlefield updates.
"Sorry I'm late." He said, walking to me. "It's ok. You scared me, I thought you had died!" I said. "Hey, I'm fine." He said, kissing my forehead. "Alright.....how are things on the battlefield?" I asked. "They're.....ok." He hesitated. "What do you mean?" I asked. "It's difficult. I'm sorry." He said. "It's alright." I said. "So, how's everything with you and the babies?" He asked. "The twins are doing just fine and the other little one has been quite active lately." I said. "It's expected though, you're getting close to seven months." He said. "Y-you've been keeping track? Even though you're in a war??" I asked.
"Of course I have. This is our child." He said. He hugged me. "I have to leave. I love you." He said. "Love you too. Please be safe, babe." I said.
"Always."

Ok, this is a bit of a longer author note but PLEASEEEEE read it!! I'm just going over a few things.
1- How far apart is each chapter??
Ok, so, no specific time set apart!! Simple as that!
2- How is Asuma here!?
Ok, I didn't really plan on bringing him back to LIFE buuuutttt I felt like I wanted to give Kurenai a good time with her husband.
3- Why is Rin in the book?
Cuz I felt like it. Also, I wanted to add one of my personal favorites in.
4- How many chapters left for the book??
Ok, I'm not completely sure but I'm going to wrap up the war in a few chapters(probably in like two more depending on what I decided on part of the ending plot cuz I totally forgot XD) and then I'll probably finish it there and end the series.
5- Why end the series??
Ok, here's my ULTIMATE plan!! I want to finish this book, call the BoruSara One Step At A Time series DONEEEE!! Next, I'll be writing Uzukaze which is based off of Minato and Kushina. After THAT mess, I'll hopefully write an original story (key word hopefully cuz I doubt anyone will read my original story)!!
So, yeah! That's all I've got for this one!!
