Jennie POV
It's already past one in the afternoo when we reached Gangwon-do.
From the chopper I can see the vast land of Manoban's. They practically owned half of the town with their properties. The land I inherited from my Grandmother didn't even reached one fourth of there property.
The reality hits me, that I am married to a very influential and powerful person.
How am I able to cope up with her?
Yes, I was born with a golden spoon on my mouth but we were raised differently.
She's too dominant for me and I was not born to be submissive. So I wonder how quickly I give her myself, that I even think that she drugged me to make me submit to her will easily.
I took a deep breath when we finally land. From where we were, I saw the old Manoban standing at the door of his large villa and looking at us. He is next to a woman, might be his nurse based on its white unifoem.
Lisa is the first who stepped down and handed me a hand to support me. But I refused to take her hand, instead I get off the chopper all by myself, and walked towards the mansion.
I just did a few step when I felt that she grab me and put her hand in my waist and walked with me.
"What the --" I was shocked and trying to release myself from her.
"Stop wriggling, you little witch." She whispered through my ear. If you will look us from afar, it looks like a married couple that having a sweet moment while walking because of her naughty smile.
"Get your filthy hands off me." I said intently while giving her a death glare.
"Don't make this hard for both of us. Just pretend to be a loving wife while we're staying here. You will not like to be the topic of the gossip of the maids."
"So, even in the front of your maids we need to pretend. You didn't said that also part of the deal, to pretend to the people around you." I respond, full of sarcasm.
"Do not start on me, Jennie." She uttered in a dangerous tone. "I'm just being careful. I don't want to be a laughing stock of the people here, much less give them something to gossip about."
"Afraid to lose your precious reputation?" I chuckled sarcastically to spite her. "I imagine, high and mighty Lalisa Manoban... succumbed in an arranged marriage. It's like buying a wife you know? Why, that's totally degrading."
I winced when I felt her hand tightened on my waist.
"Just be a doll and do not do anything that we will both regret later, wifey." She murmured while smiling sweetly at me. There's a warning behind her words.
I was about to protest but I notice that we our only a few steps away from her grandfather so I chose to keep silent and follow her... for now. I don't want the old man hear our argument. I probably stubborn most of the time but I have finesse and it was implanted on me since I was born.
"Jennie, Welcome to our humble abode!." The smiling Mr. Manoban greeted me and immediately opened gis arms for a warm hug.
Lisa also came and kissed his cheek.
"Jennie, you're already a family. So I would prefer if you call me Grandpa."
I glimpsly glanced at Lisa with a slightly wedged forehead but kept silent and listened to our talk.
"Ok Grandpa, if that's what you want." I obliged.
Inspite of all the odds, Mr. Manoban remains a charmer, things that his granddaughter did not inherit from him.
