**Riley's P.O.V.**
Everything hurt. They wanted information they were never going to get. Felix and Locus were actually working together. All of this was fucking bullshit and when I got out of here, I was killing them.
Great attitude, Ri. Where is that getting you?
"Fuck off," I grumbled.
"I didn't do anything," Wash said.
"Not ye. Epsilon. He's being a dick."
"What else is new?"
"You know what...?" Church snapped as he popped up.
Wash grimaced as he moved to face me, "What Tinker Bell? You haven't exactly been helpful."
"He's got a point, Epsilon," I murmured.
"What exactly do you want me to do?" he asked.
"Go find out why the gunfire has stopped."
He disappeared then came back. "I brought you help," he said with a frown, "She seemed familiar, but I don't know why."
I glanced to Wash then back to the door as it was kicked open. The woman who had kicked open the door put her hands on her hips.
"How is it that you two always get yourselves in sticky situations?" she asked.
"Niner?" I questioned.
She grinned, "I haven't been called that in a while. Let's get you kids out of here." She helped us up and passed us over to some soldiers that were with her. We were taken to a makeshift medical tent.
"What exactly happened here?" I asked as I was placed on a cot.
"The civil war escalated," Niner explained, "but somehow those soldiers that everyone is awed by got a message to the Generals. Turns out Locus and Felix are working together."
"The Reds and Blues are together?" Wash asked.
"You know them?"
"Yeah," I answered, "Good friends of ours. Where are they now?"
"Last I heard the jamming tower. They're probably on their way here now." She pinned us with a look. "You two want to tell me why you were locked in that room looking like you had the shit beat out of you?"
"My charming personality."
She barked out a laugh, "Still a sarcastic little shit I see."
"That shits hardwired, lassie."
"Coming through," someone said. Two soldiers and a medic appeared next to Niner. The medic started looking over my injuries.
"Riley, David, this is Dr. Emily Grey," Niner said, "She's good. Trust me." She motioned to the man next to her, "And this is General Donald Doyle of the Federal Army of Chorus." She turned to the woman. "You must be General Kimball. I'm Major Marley Snyder. My friends call me Niner."
"Nice to meet you," Kimball said. She then turned to Wash and I. "You two must be Agents Rhode Island and Washington."
"Yes, ma'am," we both answered. I stood up and held my hand out to her. "Lieutenant Colonel Riley Clarke. And the little blue guy floating around is my A.I. Epsilon. Or Church. It varies."
She shook my hand, "It's a pleasure to meet both of you. I've heard a lot about you guys from the Reds and Blues."
I chuckled, "All good things I hope."
"All good things."
"Well," Grey chirped, "You both check out."
"Thanks," Wash said. I inclined my head to her. She smiled then went to take care of other patients.
