Chapter 3

Caloy's POV

"Fuck it! Answer this damn call!"

"The number you have dial is currently unavailable---" ibinato ko ang cellphone ko sa labis na frustration, kinuha ko ang bote ng alak na nasa harapan ko at nilagok ito.

Inilibot ko ang mga mata ko sa nakakasulasok na lugar, there's a bunch of wasted people dancing happily while puffing their cigars in the rhythm of the loud deafening music, some from the corners were already lit up by the night and started making out, others were just busy drinking themselves to sleep. Everything is wild, everything is a mess.

In the middle of this chaos, here I am, wishing I could change things the way I want it to be.

"Ma'am, inyo po ata ito." the waiter-guy approached and handed me my phone.

"Itapon mo na lang, wala namang kwenta yan."

"Pero ma'am, lasing lang ho ata kayo saka may tunatawag po kase noong makita ko 'to, baka ho importante" he spoke politely kahit na arogante ang sinabi ko.

I took the phone and thanked him, nasa wisyo pa naman ako kahit na ilang bote na ng alak ang naubos ko.

Nang makaalis na ang waiter ay bumalik ako sa paglalasing. I rested my back on the couch at tinungga ang alak na halos kalahati na lamang ang laman.

The night gets deeper as the wild crowd started to get wilder. Maraming nag-ayang isayaw ako, mapa-babae man o lalaki but I constantly answering them with a no. I didn't come here to party, I went here to forget.

I wanted to forget all the things that keeps on hurting, kahit saglit lang. I wanted to feel numb but not in the way na mayroon akong madadamay na iba.

My friends were mad at me, I never dreamt to be in this situation. Nagmahal lang naman ako, masama ba yon?

In the middle of my inner battle, my phone rang. The person I least expected to talk with right now matapos ang sagutan namin kanina. It's Ayel.

"Hey" bulong ko.

"Caloy?" she sounded so nervous. "andyan ka ba? Caloy sumagot ka naman oh."

Malakas ang tugtugin dito kaya marahil hindi niya ako marinig. I cleared my throath and straightened myself as if she could see me.

"Nandito ako" my voices are louder than earlier.

"Oh God! Thank's god you answer the call, nasan ka? I'll pick you up! ala una na ng umaga."

"don't bother yourself, I told you"

"stop it, Caloy! Just tell me kung nasaan ka!" thi time she sounded like an angry mother. I can't help to smile, this lady has been so solid since day one.

"I can handle myself, Ayel. Matulog kana, I'll be home later, I promise"

"No!" I can sense her that she's stamping her feet in disapproval, that's what she usually does when she's nervous. "sabihin mo na sa'kin, just this one and I promise, hindi na kita papakialaman kahit kailan."

so, you really left me with no choice.

"Bye" I whispered as I ended the call.

I can't lose her. Mas mabuting dito na ako matulog kesa mawala siya sa'kin.

My phone keeps on vibrating, all calls coming from Ayel, my teammates are also messaging me even Isa, isn't she mad at me? pero kahit ganoon, ni isa wala akong sinagot sa kanila.

My heart is aching and I wanted to get rid of it, nilunod ko ang sarili ko sa alak. Until I can no longer see things clearly. My head is spinning. Damn it!
