31. A day of two halves. Pt 2.

Letting herself in to her office, Chloe stepped inside, still with a massive grin on her face. She headed over to her coffee machine, switching it on and popping her favourite Americano pod into the top of it. As the hot drink was dispensed, she put her phone into the dock of the media player on her desk. Seb had arranged for her to have the Bose media player in her office after she'd said she sometimes liked to work with music on. La La La featuring Sam Smith very quickly filled the room as she turned the volume up. She picked up her mug from the coffee machine, adding some milk from the mini fridge she had in here too. She loved her office and all the little perks she had in here. She stirred her coffee and turned to see a woman entering the room.
"Hello Chloe!" She called. "I did knock but you didn't hear me."

"Oh, sorry." Chloe giggled. "I love this one, I always have it loud." She walked over to her desk and turned the volume down. "I'm sorry, I'm not sure who you are?" She felt as though she should know this woman.

"I'm Giulia, from the media office."

"Oh, yes! I felt as though I should know you from somewhere. We've spoken on the phone." She noticed Giulia's pregnant figure, she had neat round bump. "Take a seat if you want."

"Thank you." Giulia sat down. "I have your travel documents here." She slid an envelope across the table. "I don't know how they ended up in my office."

"I was actually going to go and look for those in a bit so you've saved me a job." Chloe was pleased to see the flight tickets. "Have you worked here long?" She was pleased to have another woman to talk to. The men seemed to outweigh the women here.

"I've been here five years now." Giulia patted her bump. "I will soon be on leave for this one, my first." She smiled.

"How far along are you?" Chloe looked at the other woman's bump enviously. If there was one thing that had made her a little jealous of Seb's ex, it was the fact she had given him two children. If Chloe was to have a future with him, then she would love to have a child in it.

"I'm 28 weeks. I have eight weeks left before I go on leave. I'm kind of nervous though. The baby is due June 2nd and my boyfriend is due to be heading to Canada that week. He works on Sebastian's team as a wheel gunner."

"They'll let him have time off to be there won't they?" She felt anxious for Giulia at the thought of her having to go through the last stages of pregnancy on her own.

"Oh yes they will, but if she's not arrived before he flies out then he will probably have to travel with the team. They are taking a stand in too though but it's such a long flight, if I go in to labour with him away he will not get here in time."

"You're having a girl?" Chloe had caught her referring to the baby.

"Yes, little Valentina." Giulia rubbed her stomach affectionately.

"That's a beautiful name. I'm sure it'll work out for the birth. I don't think the team will let your boyfriend miss out. What's his name?"

"His name is Giovanni, he gets called Gio for short." She smiled at the mention of her boyfriend.

"I'll have a word with Seb, tell him Giovanni must not miss the birth." Chloe took a sip of her coffee. She was definitely feeling broody now. However, now was not the time in her life to be having babies, not now when she only three months in to a year long contract.

"Ah, you and Seb!" Giulia pressed her hands together. "I've heard you and him are together. Tell me what it's like, he is so famous!"

"It's wonderful, bellissimo!" Chloe found herself grinning like a lovesick teenager. "I'm so lucky, I have to pinch myself to check I'm not dreaming."
