"Here you go, get this down ya." Daniel grinned as he handed Chloe a bottle of beer.

"Thanks." She smiled as she took it from him.

"Here's to your last night in L.A." He clinked his bottle against hers before taking a drink of his beer. "And to spending your last hours here tomorrow with a raging hangover!" He added with a chuckle.

"Cheers Dan."

"Have we made you smile for the last few days or have we made you smile?" He put his arm around her shoulders and looked around at his friends who were all drinking or dancing while Michael was busy at the barbecue.

"You've made me smile, I've had a great time, thank you." She leant across and placed a kiss on his cheek. "It's been a blast." Daniel had indeed kept to his word when he'd said she'd spend her last few days here with a smile on her face. He'd made sure to include her in everything he did, whether that was doing stuff with his friends or just spending time with her by himself. They'd been jet skiing, surfing, played basketball, spent time on the beach and been out on mountain bikes and he'd taken her to a motocross track where she'd watched him race. They'd also gone on a long drive along the coast and spent the journey time singing badly or just miming to whatever tracks he'd played from his phone. She'd laughed everyday and not shed a single tear since Thursday, unless you counted tears of laughter. Daniel had been the perfect friend, and if it wasn't for the fact that she still loved Seb, then he could have been the perfect boyfriend.

"Yeah, I've had a blast too, shame you gotta fly home really." He leant his head on her shoulder, he really didn't want her to go back to Switzerland. He'd loved having her all to himself for the last few days, it had made him think about their time in Australia last year, when she'd been his. It had been an all too brief affair and she'd left him to chase the job and the chance to work for Seb, the man who had well and truly stolen her heart and had, as far as Daniel was concerned, brought her nothing but heartache since.

"Well, I've got to go back sometime, only another week to go and we'll all be thinking about Spa and then Monza."

"And Seb?" He lifted his head and looked at her.

"What about Seb?" She asked, surprising herself at how protective she felt over him when his name was mentioned.

"Are you ready to face him again?" Daniel watched as she considered her answer.

"I think so, I don't think I'll know for definite until I actually see him."

"Are you nervous about seeing him?"

"A little, yeah." She took another drink of her beer.

"Is he still texting you?"

"He's been texting me everyday."

"But he's not called you?" He watched as her face changed, he knew he was pushing her too far with these questions.

"Well I've not called him, or text him back." She let out a little sigh and wondered if she was disappointed that Seb hadn't called her. "He knew that I needed the time here to be a break from all the shit that went on and that I wanted the time alone. The first few days here, I doubt that I'd have even took his calls, but he knew that I'd read his texts."

"Can I ask you one more thing?" He asked carefully.

"Sure."

"Do you think there's still a chance for you and him?"

"Maybe, I don't know. I still love him." She answered without hesitation and she realised that right now she wasn't angry at him anymore, it seemed that she'd made some progress while she'd been here. Daniel tried not to let his happiness dull a little at her reply, of course she still loved Seb, it had been stupid of him to ask.
