Of My Heart

My body shakes
Forced to do so by my heart's relentless beating
My heart leaps up towards the sky so it can share what it is feeling
My heart
The vault where my true self hides
The bulging walls of my heart
Struggle to contain the overwhelming emotions held inside
My heart
Has grown like a wet sponge
The frigid water,
My emotions,
Fill it up
My heart is larger now than my throat
Unable to reach the sky
In my throat my heart is eternally stuck
My heart is lodged so firmly
I can only choke
But this will not kill me
Although I am suffocating endlessly
The pen in my hand
Provides a sense of relief
The ink
Of my blood and my tears
On this paper
Drips
Drips
Drips
Turning a paper
Into a galaxy
Transforming my weary heart that
Pounds
Pounds
Pounds
Tenaciously
Into a crow
Stretching its wings
Ruffling its
Silvery
Midnight feathers,
Feathers that seem to hold the reflections of every star
Resounding the hope
And madness
That hides within the starlight
Twinkling
Sparking
Glistening
The crow
Silent no longer
Lets out a cry
Signaling to me that it's about to fly
And carry the poem of my heart up to the sky
