I wake up covered in a blanket that I did not have with me whrn i fell asleep. I look over to my left to see Adelaide focusing on driving. She is listening to music and singing along.
I look over to the clock and see that it has been five hours since we left my hometown.
"Hey do you want me to drive a little bit?" I ask her as I pull up my seat.
She looks over at me.
"Hey, you're awake" she smiles. "And no, i am alright. I am also thinking we stop for the night."
We left at four and now it is nine in the evening.
"Okay." I nod my head. "Where are we?"
I look around and see we are in a city that isnt as small as mine, but not big.
"We just got into Ohio and I am thinking about stopping at a hotel in half an hour."
"Okay," I nod my head.
I look out the window until we reach a hotel.
"I'll go check in and you can grab our suitcases," Adelaide suggests.
I nod my head and go to the trunk of my car. I pull out both of our suitcases, purses, and stick our chargers and phones into my bag. I lock the car and walk to the door.
I walk into the lobby and sit in one of the chairs as I wait for Adelaide to finish checking in.
"Hey, you ready?" She asks.
I nod my head and we walk to the elevator. Her left arm around my waist, and her other arm rolling her suitcase beside her.
"What floor?" I ask her when we step onto the elevator.
"Third," she responds.
We get up to the third floor and our room is towards the end of the hall.
"How are you feeling?" Adelaide asks when I sit on the bed.
"I'm," I look down at my hands. "Confused? Lost? Tired? More like exhausted."
She frowns.
"I want to sleep." I lay down on the bed. "And cry. And eat; I'm hungry"
She lays down next to me and I look back at her.
"But this weekend. Too much happened. But, I haven't said it and I am going to say it now, thank you for coming. I would not have gotten through this weekend without you."
"There's no need to Thank me,"she places her hand over mine, "i will stand by you and support you in everything."
I look into her eyes, then her lips, the back into her eyes. Neither of us saying a word. Both of us holding our breaths.
"I lo-"
Ring.
I grab my phone and press answer.
"Hello?"
"Willow are you okay?"
Logan.
"You didn't call me Friday," she co tinues. "And I figured you wouldnt want to talk but i got so worried I had to call."
"Thank you. But, I am okay. Just mourning."
"Okay," she says. " I will let you sleep and call tomorrow. Know I am here for you."
"Thanks Logan."
I set my phone down on the nightstand. Adelaide leans her top half of her body up and props herself up with her elbows.
