The rest of the day drags on, probably because I keep glancing up at the clock hanging over Ms. Martinez's head every 2 seconds.
The day finally comes to an end and I've never been so happy to hear the sound of the bell ring loudly through the school corridors before.
I shoot up from my desk, grab my bag and bolt out of class.
As I'm passing the lockers, I catch a glimpse of Jason at the other side of the corridor by his locker, he's talking to someone.
As I casually step back, I notice it's Alexa. She sees me and smirks. She looks back at Jason and puts her hand on his and laughs enthusiastically before looking back at me.
I feel the animosity seethe under my skin.
She leans in closer to him and whispers something in his ear and he nods, smiling.
What?
I sigh and look away. I shake it off.
Whatever. Alexa can kiss my ass because there's no way I'm gonna let her get to me. Not this year.
I continue down the corridor and out the school gates just as they're opening.
"Nice T-shirt." Sara says as I fall into the Prius.
I give her a look to say 'I'm not in the mood' and it thankfully shuts her up.
For a while.
"How was school today?" she asks as she drives us out of the school car park and turns towards home.
"It was OK," I say, turning on the radio.
"Anything interesting happen?"
Shrugging, I say, "A new guy started today."
Sara glances in my direction, then faces forwards. I can tell she's trying not to smile, but her efforts aren't working.
"A cute guy?" she asks. I can't help but smile, too.
"Yes."
"What's his name?"
"Jason."
"Did you talk to him?
"Yes."
"And?"
I shrug. "He's... nice."
Sara is quiet a moment, probably sensing that I'm about to put an end to the conversation. She manages to fit one more question in.
"Who's sweater's that?" Sara asks, although I'm very sure she already knows but just wants me to say it.
"Jason's." I say, smiling a little. "He let me borrow it when we were outside when we had a firedrill."
"That was nice of him." she says.
We're almost home when Sara's phone rings, it's probably from the office. "Sorry, honey, I've got to grab this."
"No problem," I say, happy to be left alone to daydream.

It's way too late, but I just can't manage to fall asleep. My mind's too busy tracing over today's events. Especially the one at the lockers today.
I know I shouldn't let it get to me, but it just does. She does.
Why does she have to ruin everything good in my life?
Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating but seriously, why can't she just get on with hers?
She could get with and flirt with any guy in the whole entire school but she chooses to flirt with Jason.
My Jason.
I've put his hoodie in the laundry, my homework is done and my teeth are brushed. I take my mind off things by logging onto Twitter to see what's going on. Nothing interesting at all. I scroll down my timeline, not even reading any tweets, until one catches my eye, it's from Justin Bieber.
@justinbieber my fans have got #SWAG lol. so much love for u guys!!
As I scroll down further, he's retweeted about 20 fan's tweets to him, saying how much they love him and how inspiring he is.
I can't help but scoff.
Suck up.
I can't think of anything interesting to tweet or do on the internet, so I log out of Twitter and turn off my old computer and slump down on my bed.
Archie, my grey Siberian cat jumps up on my bed and starts rubbing his head on my jumper. I scratch his head and he starts purring loudly. He lays down next to me and I rest my head on my pillow, stroking him. It's only minutes before I feel myself drift fast asleep.
