"We're going to McDonald's?" I ask as we finally reach the town centre and have stopped outside "Mickey D's" as Sara calls it.

"Why not?"

I shrug.

Jason smiles and pulls down his snapback a little so it's just below his forehead, covering his eyes a little.

We walk into McDonald's and my I wrinkle my nose at the smell of the place.

"Ew, what is that smell?" I say in disgust.

Jason chuckles. "McDonald's?"

Nice.

As we stand in the queue together, it gives me time to take in my surroundings. The place is packed. There are loads of people here; from families, to teens, to even old men, to little kids sat at a long table at the back of the room. It looks like it's a little boy's birthday as he's sitting at the head of the table and he's got a little cardboard crown on his head, grinning happily with his cheeseburger.

The queue fortunately isn't that long so soon enough it's our turn to order.

"Hi, can I take your order?" the lady says behind the counter, in a very bored voice.

"Uh..." Jason looks up at the huge menu above the lady's head. "I'll have a double quarter pounder with cheese - no gherkins - and fries, the spicy chicken McBites... uhhh," he taps his fingers on the counter. "wedges, some hotcakes on the side with cream and an Oreo McFlurry."

I literally gape at Jason, who doesn't even take notice of me and starts getting his money out. When he does look at me, he goes, "What?" like ordering all that was the most natural thing in the world.

"Are you feeding Africa or something?"

He smiles. "No, I'm just hungry." he says, shrugging. "What are you having?"

I gulp as I look up at the menu. There's just too much to chose from. Not that I can eat most of it though...

"I don't know..." I say.

"What about the..." Jason looks back up at the menu. "Southern style crispy chicken sandwich? That looks good."

"Uh... Jason, I don't eat meat."

The lady behind the counter sighs and crosses her arms impatiently.

Jason's eyes widen under his snapback. "Whaaat? You could've told me that before!"

"Well judging by your excitement to come here, I thought you liked it here so I didn't want to ruin it..."

Jason rolls his eyes, but then smiles sympathetically.

"There's a queue, you know." says the lady behind the counter.

"Um, I'll just have a McFury with... uh, smarties please." I say.

Jason bursts out laughing, I have no idea why. "What?"

"McFury?"

I squint back at the menu. Ooooh, McFlurry...

"I meant McFlurry." I say, crossing my arms.

Jason starts laughing again and I roll my eyes.

"Have you even been to McDonald's before?" he asks.

"Yes." I say defesively.

Jason raises an eyebrow.

"No..."

"Oh my God, you haven't?"

"What? Is it mandatory or something?"

"Yeah!" Jason exclaims artlessly.
