Chapter 14 - Burnt pizza.

I am almost completely distracted by Jason by the time we make it through the rows of student cars and reach his smooth, black... LAMBORGHINI?!

He laughs at my stunned expression at the sight of a car usually reserved for pop stars in Hollywood. I literally feel light-headed. 

When we get closer to the car, Jason unlocks it and it makes that really cool beeping sound. When I finally tear my eyes away from the car, I look around to notice everyone in the parking lot is staring at us. Everyone. I look back at Jason and he smiles. 

"Like it?" he asks.

"Like it? Are you kidding, this is freaking crazy," I say, sounding a little too excited, but I don't care.

"Good crazy, right?" he says, walking around the car to my side.

"Very good,"

Jason opens my door for me like a real gentleman and I slip into the cream, leather seats. He shuts my door and I watch as he walks around to the driver's side and gets in.

"I got it for my Birthday," he explains.

"From who? Jesus?"

Jason chuckles. "Na, I managed to save up quite a lot during the years..."

"You're so lucky," I say, looking out the window. Everyone's still staring. "Everyone's staring at us," I whisper.

"Well I'm not surprised, you're gorgeous,"

I laugh like a little girl that's just been tickled. I didn't even know I was capable of laughing like that.

Jason starts the engine, which is literal sex to my ears. He shows off a little, revving the engine, making even more people turn their heads and gape at the car, and Jason.

I see Francesca again, this time she's with another one of Alexa's puppets, Jenna. They're walking through the parking lot towards us and I quickly slide down my chair before they see me. They're bound to tell Alexa.

"Are you afraid of being seen with me or something?" Jason asks, resting his arm on the steering wheel.

"No, just saw someone I don't want to talk to right now,"

"OK... so are you still fine with pizza?" Jason asks, as we fortunately pull out of the the parking lot and I can sit back up again. 

"Yes, I like pizza,"

"Good," he says. "My dad's out today, he took my little brother and sister out for ice cream,"

"Oh that's nice. I didn't know you had a brother and sister,"

"There's a lot you don't know about me," he says, looking at me, smiling mysteriously.

"Hmmm, well I'll just have to find out, won't I?"

"Maybe," he says.

Today I notice his eye are more vibrant and lighter. I watch them until he's forced to return them to the road.

Jason exits the motorway and turns right, towards the newer housing development across the highway. 

I'm relieved when we reach Jason's house. I feel a little twinge of jealousy at the sight of Jason's very new, very large house.

We go in and I feel the need to take my shoes off when I see the clean, cream carpet. After a quick tour of the main level, Jason pops the already made tomato and cheese pizza in the oven in the kitchen. He also reminds me he didn't forget I was a vegetarian, which is nice. I scan a masterpiece in the living room, bursting with framed photos of him and his brother and sister.
