My Snowy Snowy Wolf

Chapter 12

-(Enjoy!)-

Sophia's POV

"So you mean, i have to be fully mated to you?"

"You misunderstand," he said coldly. "What i meant was you have to have a strong bond with either Blake or Ashton, it's all part of the prophecy."

Somehow, i felt a little disappointed.

"Only them?"

I instantly regretted what i said, when Snow's eyes lit up in amusement.

"Oh, I get it," he said, sounding amused. "You wished it was me, don't you?"

"You are so cute." He said when i didn't reply.

"I... why don't you just leave?" I asked slowly, not fully understanding why Snow still stuck around. Sure we were bonded, but it wasn't a very strong bond since we hadn't mated and completed the sealing of the bonding process. As long as we both manage to avoid getting ourselves killed, we would be both perfectly fine.

I stood up from the bed, stumbling slightly, to look up at him. He was so tall i had to crane my neck slightly. His expression was unreadable.

He took a step closer to me, grabbing my waist as he pulled me close to his chest. I tried to shove him away - this was totally unexpected, but his grip on me was too tight.

"You're just like me," he said, staring deep into my eyes, but i didn't buy it all. We were very different things, he was a cunning, vulgar, crass and homicidal demon, and i would like to think i was perfectly normal.

"And you are perfect. Only you can help me." He continued, looking at me i nearly crumpled under the intensity of his gaze.

"You still haven't told me how i could help you." I said, my voice merely a whisper.

He leaned forward, and i could feel his hot breath fanning over my cheeks.

"I'll show you."

He led me to a strange part of the forest, it was about an hour away from the werewolf kingdom. It was dark and quiet, but somehow, it did seem really peaceful.

He stopped in his tracks, and i noticed he was staring at a huge tree. Amongst all the trees surrounding us, this particular one held the most presence. It was big and strong, and it's leaves were a shade of orange, while the rest were all shades of green.

"My thoughts and memories of my past are very painful," he said all of a sudden, his voice laced with sorrrow, something i never expected him to have.

"You must have suffered a lot." I said, placing a hand on his shoulder, trying to reassure him. His body relaxed at my touch.

"You have no fucking idea. I used to come here a lot, to take my mind off things, but now when i come here, all i have is the bad memories. I can't remember anything pleasant anymore."

"Let yourself be happy, forget about the pain. Even though i lie to myself half the time, it works for me." I locked away all my pain and hurt i had felt when i was bullied and shunned all these years, and now i felt like i was immune to it all.
