My Snowy Snowy Wolf

Chapter 24

My eyes widened as Shuu mercilessly tore through two of the guards. They were vampires, they were strong but Shuu was much stronger.

I felt something in me shift, i didn't want to be protected anymore, i had to do something.

I hurriedly stepped out of the car, the sunlight blinding me. The air was cool, and i looked around us. We were in a rural part of the country, somewhere in between the Werewolf and Vampire kingdoms.

A rustling sound caught my attention as a large sized demon appeared before me. He was wearing a long cloak that covered his head, and in his hand he was grabbing onto a large weapon dripping with blood. Fresh blood.

"What's a pretty girl like you doing here all on your own?" He taunted, licking his lips.

I tried to stand tall, but he was still towering over me.

"Looking for losers to kick their asses." I mocked, and he tensed with anger.

"Who you calling a loser." He growled threatingly as he swung his large weapon forward.

As soon as i noticed him getting ready to swing the weapon at me, i shifted into my white wolf, making him stop in his tracks, as his eyes widened. I was now almost as tall as his 6ft3 frame.

"Ah, looks like we have a werewolf mutt to take care of." He said, as his grip on his weapon tightened.

My eyes were locked on his every move. When he made a slight movement,  I moved towards him in unison, dodging the attacks he threw at me skillfully. He was a great fighter, being able to gracefully swing the bulky and heavy weapon around.

Suddenly, i saw an opening, and lunged forward, successfully tearing through his skin with my sharp canines. He grunted in pain, and tried to fling me off, but i bit on harder, drawing more blood, the taste of his metallic blood becoming stronger on my tongue.

"Shit." Blake's voice could be heard from a distance, and it caught my attention. I was distracted for one second but unfortunately, that moment of distraction was enough for the demon to fight back.

My eyes widened as i felt something sharp slice through my skin. With as much strength as i could muster, i flung the demon away as hard as i could, making a loud crashing sound as his back made contact with a nearby rock.

With a sharp intake of breath, I tried to stop the bleeding. I shifted back into my human form, and stumbled forward, looking down to see a nasty long gash down my abdomen where the demon had sliced through.

A loud grunt made me turn back, and my blood froze as the demon charged towards me, his face contorted with rage. I closed my eyes in slight dread but the impact never came.

I opened my eyes to see Shuu stepping on the demon's fallen body as he drew his blade that was dripping with fresh blood from the demon's neck and sheathed it.

He smiled coyly at me. The pain from the deep wound that the demon had inflicted was excruciating but i held it in. I couldn't show weakness now, especially not to Shuu. 

I was suddenly pushed forward against a tree. Shuu towered over me, and i watched as he placed his hand gently over my wound that i was clutching, and i watched amazed as it started to heal by itself. He increased his grip on me, it didn't hurt but it was firm.

"Why did you attack us?" I choked out.

"You let your guard down," He whispered mockingly into my ear.

I gritted my teeth, "That doesn't answer my question."

"I just carried out orders, no hard feelings Chéri." Shuu continued, "But mostly i wanted to see you fight."

"What?! You killed so many innocent lives just to see me fight?" I exclaimed heatedly. I could not believe this guy - demons were all sick and twisted bastards.

"Their lives didn't matter, they are disposable." He smiled wickedly down at me, "My offer is still open, let's be mated."

I scoffed,

"What makes you think i would want to be mated to you?"

He leaned in, capturing my chin in a firm grip with his fingers so i was looking deep into his eyes,

"We both know that you being mated to me will make you stronger, much stronger. In fact, you may have a chance of standing up against Hayes if you had a mating bond with me."

He was strong, I knew that. And having a bond with him was the most practical way i could defeat Hayes. The more I thought about him, the more powerful I realized he was. He was a demon prince of all things.

"I'll .. think about it." I said slowly, and he looked pleased with my answer.

"Good, i trust that you will make the right decision. I have so much more installed for you, you are truly destined for greatness. You have until your wedding night to decide, Chéri."
He said, before he released his hold on me, and i watched as he and the remaining demons retreated slowly into the darkness.

"Sophia! Shit are you okay?" Blake was panting slightly, and i watched as he wiped the blood off his face. I felt so relieved that he was alright at that moment i could cry.

"Did.. did they hurt you?" He asked, concern laced in his voice as he rubbed my cheeks soothingly. I didn't care that he had blood caked on his hands at that moment, i needed his comfort.

A sudden warmth welled up within me. It was nice to know that he was sincerely worried about me, it had been a long time since i felt like someone sincerely cared. I inched forward, stepping closer towards him, tiptoeing as i wrapped my arms around his broad shoulders.

He stood there frozen for a moment as though he wasn't sure how to react, he probably didn't expect me to show any signs of affection towards him willingly.

He hugged me back tightly, as he wrapped his arms around my waist and drew me closer to his chest. I could feel the steady beat of his heart beating against mine.

I didn't notice a shadow in the forest, watching us with incredulous eyes.
