A Tortured Soul

Chapter 34

After finding out Haley really was his daughter, Justin felt it was time to finally tell May and Jack about his perdicament. He was unsure of how they would take the news because he was so young, or if he should even tell them at all. He thought long and hard about the situation and even played the memory back of how Kim's parents reacted when they found out he was the father. They were pretty pissed at him, he didn't want Jack and May to be pissed at him too. Kim's parents didn't want him anywhere near their daughter, granddaughter, or their property, but Kim stood up and told them he would be in there life if they wanted him to or not because it was her decision and not theirs. He loved the fact that Kim has been so strong and positive through the entire thing so far, but he couldn't seem to wrap his mind around being a father. Neither one of them were ready for the responsibility, they were only sixteen years old.

Justin gathered his thoughts and sat Jack and May down in the kitchen prepared to spill the beans. Then the thought crossed his mind to have Kim and Haley there so they could meet as well as being told who they were. "I have something to tell you both, it's pretty big news, and I'm not sure how you are going to react. I have known for a while and have been keeping it a secret because I'm kind of scared to tell you." Justin began. "Oh, Justin, You can talk to us about anything! You know that!" May said sweetly placing a hand on his knee, she could see how nervous he was. JT and Tatiana were in the kitchen listening as well. "I'm....um....I'm.....I'm sorry I can't." He said letting out a huge breath of air. "This must some big news, just tell us. If it helps, just say it really quick and we will try to listen closely so you don't have to repeat yourself." Jack said.

Justin leaned his head back and looked at the ceiling for a moment, took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and let it out slowly. "I'm a father, I have a kid, her name is Haley, she is Three years old, her mom is Kimberly Andrews, she lives on the next street over, her parents are pissed, they hate me, I knocked her up before I went to juvie, I found out the day I got out, and we had a DNA test done three days ago so yes I know she is for sure mine, and please don't be mad I'm sorry." Justin spit the words out as fast as he possibly could in a single breath with his eyes still shut and his head still turned to the ceiling.

Jack, May, JT, and Tatiana had their eyes locked wide open on Justin, none of them knew what to say. Tatiana was the first to respond by jumping out of her chair and running straight to her room and slammed the door. "Well, you got me, that is big news." Jack began. "But, what's done is done and now we sit back for a moment to let all of this sink in." He finished. "Just please tell me you aren't mad at me." Justin said with a concerned expression. May, still looking at him, lowered her eyebrows and smiled. "No sweetie, we are not mad, but I would like to meet them if that is ok with you." She said softly. "I can go get them now if you want." "Perfect!" Justin got up and raced to Kim's house with JT by his side. "Dude, I can't believe you have a kid. I haven't even had sex yet. How is it?" JT perked up. "You will just have to find out on your own, I can't explain it, sorry." Kim's parents answered the door and refused to let her and Haley leave with Justin and JT so that Jack and May could meet them. "Mom, dad, please let us out. We are just going to meet JT's parents." Kim said trying not to be rude. "Why JT's parents? Why not Justin's parents?" Kim's mom asked with an attitude. "Trust me, you don't want to meet his parents. He is living with me so that's why it's my parents and not his." JT spoke up.

Kim pushed passed her parents with Haley and left, she hated the fact that they wanted to keep Justin out. The way she seen it was, she is in love with Justin and they have a child together. Her parents always taught her that the mother and the father should be active in the child's life unless one gives reason that they don't deserve to be, but here they were trying to keep the father of her child away. Once they got to JT's house Jack and May were waiting on the porch to meet the two ladies that would forever be part of Justin's life. They were being very supportive and Kim thanked them for that and told them how much it aggravated her that her parents were being such babies. "Well, I'm very sorry to hear that. I hope one day they will see that you two are at least trying to do the right thing. I mean this situation could have went in a really bad direction." May explained. "Yes ma'am, I could have terminated the pregnancy and no one would ever know it happened, but I made the decision to do what I did knowing I could get pregnant. I didn't want to take the easy way out. Plus look at this beautiful child we created!" Kim replied boldly.
