Jason has had his eyes on a particular two story, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house, with red brick, black double doors, large fenced in backyard, and a closed in two car garage over on Parkdale Drive for about two months now. It was in the middle of a closing sale, someone else was already in the process of buying it. Jason took that as a sign to act, and fast. He called the realestate agent and offered $10,000 more than the people waiting for the deal to close, it worked!
The deal closed quick, he met with the agent the following day to recieve the keys. He did it, he got a home for his soon to be wife, and just in time too, she was scheduled to be released from the hospital in just a few short hours.
Jason met up with Marge at the hospital with a big smile on his face, he was so proud of himself and couldn't wait to share the good news.
"Plans have changed Jason."
Marge said as she watched him enter the room. His smile turned to a confused look.
"What do you mean?"
"We cant wait any longer, we have to get out of here before that bitch of a nurse comes back."
"What? Why?"
"I will explain later, now is not the time, help me."
Jason helped her gather her things into the single duffle bag she brought with her.
"You get the baby, I will get the bag."
She said still refusing to touch the child.
They quickly and quietly slipped out of the room, through the front door, tossing the bag into the back seat of the car and sped off unnoticed.
"Did you get us a place?"
Marge asked.
"Yes baby, I sure did! I just got the keys, its fully furnished and I think you are going to love it."
"How did you manage to get a house fully furnished?"
"You know, when you go to view a home it is always set up real nice so it looks and feels more like a home rather than just an empty box right?"
"Of course."
"Well, I offered an extra $10,000 to keep everything in there and they went for it! Now all we need to do is get food to stock up the pantry, fridge, and freezer, then we will be all set! Plus since we have been living in this damn car we already have all of our shit."
"You did good babe!"
Marge said with a smile patting his back.
"Wait! Shit, we have to get diapers and crap for the baby too. Did you come up with a name for him yet?"
"No, what about you? You got anything?"
"Hummm, what about..... Larry!"
"No."
"Hunter?"
"No."
"Marcus?"
"No."
"Oh I got it! How about Justin!"
"Justin?"
Marge thought for a moment starring out of the window silently counting the trees as they passed by.
"Ok, Justin it is, but he cant have either of our last names, because when he gets older and in school he can be traced back to us, and with the shit we have done we could end up in jail or prison even, and then we lose everything."
"So, we will think of a last name."
They pulled into the driveway of their brand new home, and unloaded the car. Jason walked upstairs with baby Justin in his arms to figure out which room was going to be Justin's and find his and Marge's room since he had never been in the home until now. The master bedroom was huge, with his and hers walk-in closets, his and hers sinks in the connected bathroom, a closed off toilet for privacy, a garden tub with Jacuzzi jets for relaxing, and a spacious stand up shower with a waterfall shower head on one side and a fancy square shaped jet stream shower head on the other side.
Now that he has checked out his room it was time to decide which of the other two rooms was going to be for Justin. Marge wanted him in the smallest room, but the two rooms were the exact same size.
He walked downstairs to Marge who was sitting on the couch relaxing for a bit waiting for him so they could go to the grocery store.
"Hey babe."
He called to her.
"Yes?"
"Could you come upstairs for a minute and help me figure out which room to put Justin in please?"
"The smallest."
"They are the same size."
"Than put it in the furthest from ours so it dont wake me up at night."
Jason stood confused for a moment, she was still calling him an 'it' even though they had named him. He thought the baby was a good thing, they were a family he couldn't understand why she was being so bitter.
Walking back upstairs he kept his eyes on the tiny child sleeping in his arms. The room furthest from theirs was the first door on the left just as you reached the top of the stairs, theirs was the last door all the way at the end of the long hallway. He sat on the edge of the bed still starring at his child. The thoughts from the hospital returned to his mind.
"Drugs can't change a child like this, can they?"
Suddenly he grew angry, his face went from confusion to sour in an instant. Marge stomped upstairs, found Jason, and set up the playpin her mother bought for the baby.
"Put it down and lets go, I'm starving."
She said with a stunt voice pointing at the playpin with one hand while the other rested on her hip. His anger grew more intense, she never talked to him that way before.
"The baby changed her."
He thought to himself, he no longer felt love for the child, he changed the woman he loves, and for that he must pay.
He placed Justin in the playpin and they left him there alone while they went to the grocery store.
