                                                                               THIRD PERSON POV

Kahmunrah ran through the halls over to his parent's chamber of the palace. "Mother! Father! I came as quickly as I could!", he ran into the room with a smile on his little face. "Come here, my son.", his father motioned for him to come to the giant bed where his mother rested. His father hoisted him up onto the bed beside his smiling mother to look at his new baby brother. "He's so small. What are we going to call him?", the little prince asked his father. "We shall call him Ahkmenrah, my son. Now you have another playmate and friend, but be careful with him and promise me one thing.", his father told his son. "What is that father?", Kahmunrah's innocent eyes looked up with happiness at his father. "You must promise to protect him with your life, and teach him all that you know.", his father said with a smile. "We'll do that together!", little Kahmunrah smiled at his father. "I am proud to call you my son.", he smiled and kissed his little boy's forehead. I know you will not fail me." "Would you like to hold him?", his mother asked him with a smile. "Very much, mother.", Kahmunrah smiled at his new baby brother. He held out his hands and took his little brother in his hands, and the little baby smiled and cooed at his bigger brother. "We're going to be best friends.", Kahmunrah smiled down at his little brother.

As the years flew by, Ahkmenrah grew into a rambunctious little boy who always climbed on anything he could find to climb. Kahmunrah would always have to chase him down and get him to stop. "Ahk! You can't do that! STOP! You promised mother that you wouldn't! AHK!", Kahmunrah shouted trying to catch up to his little brother. When he finally made it to the little mountain, it was too late. Little Ahkmenrah had climbed to the top. "Too late!", Ahk laughed at his older brother. "You promised you wouldn't DO this!", Kahmunrah yelled from below. "Kah, come up here! Come on! You can see the whole kingdom from here!!", Ahk shouted with glee,"It's so beautiful." He then looked down at his big brother who looked both annoyed and worried, "I-I can't. Besides you know mother is going to send someone out to get us for super. We're probably going to have your favorite, and you'll miss it if you don't climb down!" "You're just a fraidy-cat!", Ahk stuck out his tongue at his older brother. "Cats are the guardians of the underworld! That's a lovely animal to be compared to.", Kah countered his little brother's comments with a smirk on his face and his arms crossed. "No, you're more like our cat, Sabor. He's afraid of his own shadow!", little Ahk giggled. "Ahk, if you don't come down from there so help me, I'll...", Kahmunrah gathered the courage to climb the mountain and almost got to the top before looking down,"Oh....Oh no. This is too high up." "Kah! Grab my hand!", the little prince shouted and reached out his little hand to catch his big brothers hand.

The little prince pulled his bigger brother up with all his might and Kahmunrah lifted himself onto the flat surface of the mountain. "We need to get back down from here!", Kahmunrah scolded his younger brother. "Oh, come on, Kah! You climbed up to the top! Look! See how beautiful our kingdom is?", his baby brother gestured to the amazing sight of the temples and the palace in the distance. "I-It IS beautiful. WOW! I can see our palace from here!", Kahmunrah admired the view. "This is OUR kingdom.", Ahkmenrah put an arm around his older brother,"And one day, you'll rule it." Kahmunrah thought about that for a moment. Rule? This large kingdom? Somehow he felt he was unqualified. Yet his little brother thought he was plenty qualified and fit to be ruler of their great land. That in itself gave him confidence and pride. "Alright little scarab, let's get home before mother is worried sick.", Kahmurah gently brushed his little brother's arm away from him as he got up. He looked down, frighted, "How do we get back down?"

"The same way we got up.", Ahkmenrah smiled up at his older brother, and slowly slid on his bottom to the side of the mountain, and planted his feet at the side of the mountain as well as hang on with his hands. "Come on! It's easy!", Ahkmenrah smiled up at his big brother. "Easier said than DONE!", Kahmunrah raged against the side of the mountain. As they made their way down the mountain, they heard approaching footsteps. "Kahmunrah! Ahkmenrah! Your mother has sent us to get you!", they heard worried voice of Imhotep, their father's adviser. "I just don't know why you two have to get into so much trouble! Your mother and I were worried sick!", their father scolded them. "It was my fault, father. I wanted to see the kingdom I would rule one day, and Ahkmenrah had followed me, but I was able to climb down with him.", Kahmunrah lied to take the blame from his brother. "A wise ruler does not go out and climb mountains. It is very dangerous, my son. You may be in line for the throne, but you have a lot to learn before that can ever happen! You have put both yourself and your brother in danger! I am very, very unpleased with you.", his father scolded him with a hard look in his eyes.

"Yes, father.", Kahmunrah looked at the ground in shame. Once Kahmunrah reached his room, he turned to notice that he was followed by his brother. "What do you want, Ahk?", he said under clenched teeth. "I wanted to know if you were alright.", his baby brother spoke up from behind him. "I'm fine, alright. Just go.", Kahmunrah said in disgust. "You didn't have to take the blame, Kah. I would've told him-", Ahk began but was interrupted by his big brother. "What exactly would you have told him? That your big brother was too much of a coward to climb that mountain in the first place, but came after you? It wouldn't have made a difference! You have-ever since-", Kahmunrah struggled to find the right words,"You've always been the favorite!" "Well you're my favorite.", Ahk said as he looked at the ground. Kahmunrah, sighed and held his breath to calm down. "You're my favorite big brother , Kah!", Ahk said with a smile. Kah turned to look at him, pinched the bridge of his nose, then faced the wall again, "I'm the only big brother you have." After a moment of silence, Kah spoke up, "Just leave, Ahk. Go." That was where Kahmunrah's jealously began.

He was so wrapped up in what was FAIR, that he started to hate his little brother for always being the favorite, when Kahmunrah was already Ahkmenrah's favorite. Little did the royal family know in that time, that Ammunet was slipping poisonous herbs in the wine to slowly kill their mother, the queen of Egypt. She had started to also cast an evil spell upon Kahmunrah for the sinful nature of greed. After a while, Kahmunrah stopped playing with Ahkmenrah, and found a group of snobby friends to hang around instead, and they would bully Ahkmenrah, making it known to his father that he was not fit to rule the kingdom. On Ahkmenrah's fifteenth birthday, his mother passed away, and his father was getting sicker and sicker each day. It was a grim birthday for Ahkmenrah. His father had pushed and pushed for him to take a bride, but he refused each woman that was brought to him. He liked a peasant who would comfort him in the night, but it was not love. He would often wonder what it would be like to be in love, but romantic thoughts aside he was cynical about the whole idea once his mother died.

Kahmunrah got worse and worse though the years after he murdered his own brother for the throne. He enslaved, and murdered thousands causing fear to spread throughout the land of Egypt. After his long and terrible rule, his land was conquered and his throne taken as well as his life. He vowed as he lay dying, that one day he would come back and take back what was 'his', but that day would never come until thousands of years later.
