Ancient Egyptian Times (FLASHBACK)
Third Person P.O.V.
Meryt was frustrated. Her sister Ammunet was being way to hard on her. How was she supposed to know that King Merenkahre and Queen Shepseheret were supposed to be coming into town today with their sons? Ammunet had ordered Meryt to go to the market and buy some cosmetics and come home straight away to do her younger sister's makeup, but Meryt stopped to swim in the Nile like she always did on her day off, and Ammunet was less than pleased. After she was finished with her sister's makeup she did her own and walked back right back to the Nile. Ammunet was bossy and very ambitious of the two sisters while Meryt lived in her own world. Meryt was older than her sister by a year and four months but acted like the younger one most of the time. Always running to the Nile to to swim or fish. Her mother always said her pale skin, light brown hair, and amber eyes made her think she was born from the Nile like a fish brought to shore or born from the pale moonlight descending down to the earth. Her mother also always said that she was like a little fish because of how much she loved to swim, or just being close to the water. It was her fifteenth birthday today, and she was the same age as the king and queen's youngest son, Ahkmenrah although she never saw the royal family at all. They must've loved living in their palace so much that they never ever left, so it was unusual to Meryt that they would come into town.
Not caring at all who saw, she started to wade through the water of the Nile and swam away from the shore. All of the sudden, there was a giant hippopotamus that charged over to her frightening her and causing her to panic. On the other side of the river was a large crocodile, that eyed her like lunch. Meryt was sure she was going to die, but the hippopotamus charged past her and killed the crocodile. Meryt quickly swam out of the way of the two fighting animals and back to the shore where she came from, to watch the two fighting animals in horror. The hippopotamus won, and swam away with it's large family of hippos. Meryt tried to catch her breath as she just realized what happened. She was almost killed by either a crocodile or a hippo. Her white dress was soaked as well as her hair and body, and she shook with fear still lingering in her body. "You there! Girl! The prince Ahkmenrah of the great land of Egypt has requested that you accompany him to dinner tonight.", Meryt turned to see a royal guard and a extremely handsome boy her age dressed in royal grab. 'That's probably Prince Ahkmenrah. I should bow.', she thought and immediately dropped to the ground. "Your majesty. I am sorry, I did not see you there.", Meryt tried to keep her cool. She heard footsteps approach her and felt a soft gentle finger underneath her chin guide her to look at the most beautiful pair of big greenish blue eyes she had ever seen. "It is alright. There is no need to apologize. You almost lost your life, and I was going to save you but couldn't get to you in time. The Gods must have great purpose for you because you are still alive. I have been watching you for quite some time. You come here on your own free time. You spend the evening swimming here, and I sometimes see you at night. I heard there was a rare beauty living amongst this village, who was named after the shore.....or is it the river? You must be a rare fish out of water.", he smiled at Meryt as he helped her up.
"You come here.....to see me?", Meryt asked stunned. "Yes I do.", he laughed at her stunned expression. "How do you sneak out of the palace?", Meryt found herself asking. "I can easily disguise myself as a peasant and slip through the palace walls.", he smiled. His guard behind him stirred. (Obviously not pleased with what the young prince revealed about sneaking out of the palace.) "Would you want to walk with me to the market?", the handsome prince asked her. "Y-Yes.", she said as the grabbed the arm that he offered her. She inwardly worried about missing dinner and facing her mother's wrath, or worse, her sister's. The whole time she was worried about what was going to happen at home, but also at the same time she was curious about the prince and life inside of the palace walls. He told her about his older brother and how he treated him bad, and also about his hobbies and asked her about her hobbies (Besides swimming in the Nile.) Meryt was starting to like Prince Ahkmenrah, but she knew her place. She truly knew that she could never be with him. She was a peasant. He was a prince. "Thank you for a lovely evening. I've enjoyed it immensely.", Meryt told him with a smile. "You are most welcome.", Prince Ahkmenrah said as he lifted the back of her hand to his lips,"I shall see you again tomorrow." Meryt blushed. She didn't know what to say. "Alright. I'll see you tomorrow.", she bowed again, but he lifted her up from the ground. "Don't do that. You don't need to.", he told her with a frown as he dusted her off. All Meryt could do was blush and nod. "Alright. Until tomorrow.", Prince Ahkmenrah smiled endearingly at her.
Meryt smiled at herself in her small mirror as she readied herself for bed. Just then, her sister came in and snickered at her,"Look at you, finally growing up, I see. What's his name?" "I-I....", Meryt couldn't really get the words out. Especially since her younger sister was trying to win the attention of the two princes. "It doesn't matter, because as soon as I marry into the royal family, you won't be able to marry for love. You'll have to marry a prince!", she laughed happily. Meryt didn't know when her sister had turned this cruel and cold. Was it after her parents separated or before. It didn't matter because she was a literal thorn in her side. "You know that ambition will get you nowhere. Princes only marry princesses. If you wanna be a royal concubine, or harlot be my guest.", that seemed to have slipped out of Meryt's mouth causing her sister to get angry with her. "NOW WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN TALK TO ME THAT WAY, HUH?", Ammunet pulled Meryt's hair to make her face her. "I'm your older sister. In fact, the only sister you've got. So I would appreciate it if you showed me some respect.", Meryt seethed. Ammunet let go of her sister's long soft hair and laughed,"But you never act like it." "Could've fooled me, with your ridiculous ambition to one day live in the palace.", Meryt sighed. "What is his name?", Ammunet inquired. "None of your business. Besides, it'll never work out. We're from different worlds.", Meryt found herself revealing that very important fact only to realize that she had made a mistake after she let it slip. As much as Ammunet was a thorn in Meryt's side, she still cared for her little sister, and loved her. However, she didn't want her to find out about her outing with Prince Ahkmenrah.
TIME SKIP
A couple of months passed since Meryt had met Prince Ahkmenrah and the two saw each other ever since the fateful day by the Nile. They developed a healthy, strong friendship for one another, and did many things together. Prince Ahkmenrah wanted their relationship to move past friendship and more into the romantic kind. Meryt cared deeply for Ahkmenrah, but still thought they couldn't be together since she was a peasant and he was royalty. Ammunet found out the hard way that Prince Ahkmenrah had feelings for her older sister through a letter that one of his guards sent to the house. Prince Ahkmenrah was planning a chariot race with his brother the next month and it was going to be a big deal. He wanted her to come see him race. Ammunet got a twisted horrible idea. "Good evening Meryt. I found this at our front door.", Ammunet handed her the letter. When Meryt started to read it, she grew horrified. Her sister knew about Prince Ahkmenrah. "Ammunet, I'm sorry. I can explain.", Meryt pleaded with her sister. "Explain what exactly? It all is clear on the papyrus. He wants to marry you.", Meryt looked at the ground as her sister seethed,"I can imagine everything is going according to your precise plans." "It's not like that.", Meryt defended herself. "OH! You LOVE him!!", Ammunet laughed this time,"Well I guess you get my dream and so much more as a bonus!" "Ammunet, the right guy will come along for you! You just have to believe it!", Meryt tried to console her younger sister. "Actually, this is perfect! You're my ticket into the palace!", Ammunet then proceeded to rush over to her sister's side and took ahold of her hands,"Meryt, thank you! Thank you so much! You're the best older sister a little sister could ask for!" "What do you mean?", Meryt asked feeling confused. "I mean, it's obvious! You HAVE to marry him!", she squealed. "But his parents surely won't like me.", Meryt said feeling deflated. "No, they'll LOVE you!", Ammunet's new attitude was starting to scare Meryt. "Ok, who are you, and what have you done with my sister?", Meryt asked with a smile. "I'm just so....so happy for you, sis. And I'm so proud of you!", she said as she hugged her older sister who was shocked at what she was doing but did not see the smirk on her sister's face.

TORI'S P.O.V.
I gasped as I woke up from a vivid dream I had about living in ancient egypt. I quickly glanced at a sleeping Ahk who was seated beside me and resting his head on my shoulder. I snuggled into him and shook. It all seemed so real!
