•Chapter 3•

*back to present day, the morning after*

Ash woke up to an empty bed and the harsh sun shining on his face through the windows. Eiji must've opened the curtains. He always thought that a bright and early start to your day was the way to go.

Ash groaned as he got out of bed heading to the kitchen to look for his boyfriend.

There he saw Eiji "attempting" to make American waffles. Ash chuckled as he walked up behind Eiji and kissed the back of his neck.

"Eep!" Eiji jumped in shock almost dropping the waffle batter.

"Good Morning." Ash sung as he sat down in the dining room, turning on his phone to go through emails.

"Morning." Eiji said grumpily trying to focus on not burning the waffles in the waffle press. "You know I don't like it when you sneak up on me like that."

"Awe but it's so cute watching you get scared." Ash replied.

"Cute my ass." Eiji mumbled.

                             *time skip*

"Here are your waffles!"

Eiji places a large stack of waffles in front of Ash quite pleased with himself that he didn't burn them...well most of them.

"Woah, thanks babe I'm starving." Ash says as he took a fork and just went for it.

Eiji handed Ash a glass of orange juice. "Don't choke." He said, his head resting on his palm staring at his boyfriend pigging out.
How does he manage to stay so skinny?

After Ash was done he got up and washed his and Eiji's plates. After that he joined Eiji on the couch.

They sat in complete silence, Eiji playing with the longer parts of Ash's hair while Ash laid in between his legs.

"Ash." Eiji said at once letting his boyfriend's golden locks fall through his fingertips.

Ash remained silent knowing that Eiji was going to bring up last night.

"Ash I think we should talk about yesterday night."

Ash sat up and moved to the opposite side of the couch so he could face Eiji properly.

"I just want you to know that I love you... more than I ever possibly thought I could love a person. I want what's best for you always. Last night... I-I hurt you..."

Ash remained silent looking down at his partners hands playing with the stitching of the couch as he spoke.

"I knew there was a possibility that you weren't ready but I still took that chance. I was selfish and wasn't paying attention to your feelings and in the end I-I b-broke you. And for that I am truly sorry."

Ash looked up, Eiji already staring at him, eyes full of regret.

Ash spoke "I know that you just wanted to help me feel happy again and I really appreciate that. I just wasn't ready and it caught me off guard.  It might take awhile. But if you're willing to wait-"

Eiji cut him off buy placing his hand on Ash's trembling ones. "Always." he responded. "I'll always wait for you."
