"How does it feel getting married?" Jin asks, eyes crescent with teasing amusement. Ever since I'd gotten married to V and had our elopement official— the others simply refused to leave me alone.
"What do you mean— answer that question yourself! You're married, for heaven's sake! Same marital status as the five other people who's been bothering the daylights out of me for the past month!"
"Yeah," Suga drones, dragging out the word lazily. "But it's not the same."
I'd hoped that Lyria had set him straight, but it seemed like she hadn't gotten to that part just yet. It was understandable— she'd been a miracle to even tame his grumpy self in the first place.
"Go tend to your own wives and let me worry about my own husband, how about that?"
As if he wanted everyone to watch, Jungkook kisses sweet Evelyn right on the lips— in a way that I didn't know that the young maknae was capable of.
"I'm taking care." He reassures me as Evelyn blushes shyly and tucks her head behind a pillow. At the soft age of nineteen, the young girl was the epitome of gentle— which was what seemed to pull in Jungkook in so much.
"Give the girls room to breathe, Kook." V says, keeping his eyes set on a novel. Even though he makes it seem like he's reading, I can catch that he is watching and listening in the conversation.
Thanks, V. Thanks a lot.
A moment of silence befalls the full room before Hoseok decides to break it with a delightful suggestion.
"How about we go grab some ice cream instead of starting an argument? I think that sounds terrific."
"It is terrific!" I exclaim, jumping out of my seat when V pulls me back down, his expression perplexed.
"Is ice cream safe to eat when you're pregnant?"
At his worried tone, everyone bursts into laughter in the room— including Gabrielle, who none of us had ever seen laugh. The only lucky exception had been Jimin, who looks to her in surprise when she explodes into amused giggles.
"It's fine, Tae." Hoseok says, still trying to calm his silent laughter. "Ice cream won't kill her or anything— and neither will it do anything to the baby."
My heart melts with warmth when a bright blush replaces the cool tone of his cheeks. He was just so precious when it came to me and the sweet life I bore that I wanted to squeeze him to death.
"Isn't he so cute?" Jin shrieks as V covers his heating face, unable to take the humiliation. It almost makes me guilty that I was giggling helplessly— almost. I just couldn't help it— a situation like this was so rare that I had to cherish every second when it happened.
"Okay, you overgrown toddlers," Rovalie announces, clapping her hand over Jin's mouth and waving her other. She was a person we could always count on to put an end to a situation if it got too out of hand— which was pretty much the situation now.
"Let's quit tormenting the worried father and go get ice cream already, shall we?"
V looks tremendously grateful as he nods at Rovalie, only his deep eyes visible from the top of his slender hands. Suddenly feeling a bit guilty myself, I kiss him on the cheek lightly.
"Sorry, V. But thanks— that was so sweet." I place a hand on my flat stomach as I playfully twist the soft strands of his hair up and down.
It would swell soon with the signs of our first child— a beautiful soul.
He rises from the couch, the gap in height suddenly so dramatic I have to crane my neck to keep our eyes fixed together. Sometimes I just wished he was just an inch or so taller than me. It would be so much easier that way— and if I wore heels, than I would've had the precious chance to look down on him.
Now wouldn't that be sweet.
Time Skip
"I want strawberry!" Karisyn tugs Namjoon's sleeve as she points at one of the containers, decorated warm pink with swirls of chocolate chips and streaks of frozen red. Everyone knew she loved the fruit— she would eat it day and night if Namjoon would let her.
"Of course." When Namjoon rolls his eyes playfully at her, she slaps his arm and skips over to an empty table for us to sit.
It was amazingly nice not being the only couple in the group— all the girls were such good friends they might as well have been family.
Everyone was family here— and my real family I tried to forget. They hadn't contacted me since the time V had slammed the door in their faces— and for good riddance. I never want to see them again, and I don't care if that sounds cruel— they'd only given me hell and agony to claw through.
"Tzuyu— you look like you're about to choke the life out of someone." V's gentle remark brings me out of my thoughts as something cold and sweet explodes against my tongue.
Cherry?
I instantly lick the ice cream off of my lips, relishing the perfect blend of tangy and sugar as I reach for the cone V's holding. He smiles a flawless smile as he sees that I'm pleased with the flavor he chose.
"I think I just found a name for our baby." I grin as I lick the ice cream cone.
"What?"
"Cherry."
"Don't joke with me."
"I'm not joking," I protest, but he shakes his head firmly. That usually meant there was absolutely no way I could convince him to name our child Cherry. Now that I thought about it, it sounded kind of ridiculous anyway.
He tilts his head at me, features taut with thoughtfulness. While he thinks, I keep coming up with my baby names that I think are wonderful.
"If it's a girl.... Kahlen? Doesn't that sound good— it like rolls off your tongue."
He looks at me like I have three heads plus another nose.
"Trey? If it's a boy."
V doesn't answer, his almond eyes gazing straight at me. His stare is so intense and focused that I wonder if I really do have three heads. All of a sudden, he takes his head off of his hand, lips forming a name better than what I could've ever thought of.
"Heavenly."
