The sound of thunder shakes me from my peaceful sleep. I look at the digital clock on the beside table. 5:00 am. I probably should've taken more than one Advil. Sighing, I get out bed and decide to go workout. I let my hair out of its ponytail, the wavy curls cascading over one shoulder. I decide to wear wear some leggings with a very cute bra because why not look good for yourself right?
As I approach the gym I hear the sound of metal clinking. I sigh, I really thought I'd be alone. I wonder who else is crazy enough to be up at th- oh great.
Jax is lifting weights, but stops when he sees me.
"You do your thing, and I'll do mine." I say. "Just don't come near me." He looks at me funny.
"Ok, whatever."After an hour I sit down, sip some water put my hair into a ponytail, away from my sweaty neck. When I look up I see Jax staring at me.
"Can I help you?" I say. He shakes his head and turns around to grab a towel on the bench. "Do you have a problem with me or something?" I say when he doesn't turn back around for a few minutes."Listen, you're just an annoying little thing in my life and I don't need you distracting me." I scoff.
"From what? Shagging girls everyday?" He suddenly shoves me against the wall before I can even blink.
"Watch what you say to me."
"You-" I gasp for air, "are an- a**hole."
"And you're an annoying little bean." He says, finally letting go of me. I gasp, and glare at him.
"You can't call me that." I storm away, and start to cry as soon as I'm out of Jax's sight.Everything starts to blur as I stumble back towards my room.
"Hey, hey!" I continue to walk, but fall to the floor. "Woah woah woah."
"I can't take it anymore, I can't take it." Through my tears I see blonde hair. Tyler. "Tyler I can't stand it. I miss my brother so much. He's probably worried sick, and m-my best friend-" I can't finish, the pain is too strong. Tyler engulfs me in a hug, and all I can do is cry.Tyler's POV
I kiss Brianna lightly on the forehead and pull the covers over her. I think all the crying sucked out the life in her. As soon as I put her on the bed she was passed out. It hurts to see her like this. She's normally so happy.
"Is she going to be alright?" I turn to see my sister behind me.
"Yes, I just need to talk to Jax to figure something out." Gwen tilts her head. "Watch her for me. I'll be back soon." I walk to Jax's office, not bothering to knock before I walk in.
"What do you want." He doesn't look up from his computer."Brianna isn't doing well." He slams the computer shut.
"Should I care?"
"Yes! She's a mess and-"
"She's your girlfriend. Do something about it."
"So if I took her to see her brother you wouldn't mind?" Jax stands up.
"She's not leaving the house." I walk up to him, glaring into his eyes.
"Why." He pushes me back with his hands.
"Because I said so." I'm about to speak, but he brushes by me and storms out.
"Idiot." I say.Jax's POV
The first thing I do when I leave my office is pick up my phone, and make a call.
"Eduardo, find out who Brianna Carter's brother is, and bring him to me as soon as possible." I hang up, and make my way to Brianna's room.Brianna's POV
"Out." I hear a deep voice say. Gwen mumbles something under her breath, and I hear her shuffle away. "Get up picardias, and put something nice on. Some people are coming to visit you today."
"Leave me alone." I groan into the pillow.
"You're so lazy." I feel someone grab my feet, and suddenly I land hard on the floor.
"Ow!" I roll over, painfully getting to my feet. "Jax! What the hell is your problem?!"
"You'll be getting a visit in about...." he looks at the Rolex on his wrist. "Five minutes?" I furrow my eyebrows.
"Who would visit me?" I pause, "and better yet, who would you let visit me? You have this place locked up tighter than Fort Knox." He rolls his eyes.
"Just get dressed and meet me in my office."Weirdo. I think to myself. Sighing, I lazily browse through my closet and pick out a cute outfit. You never know, my visitor could be cute.
I have to ask someone where Jax's office is. When I reach the black door, I knock twice, and Jax opens it, giving me a once over.
"You look like fu**ing Kim Possible."
"Shut up. Where's my visitor?" He comes out of the office, careful to not let me look inside.
"Just, don't think too much of it, and don't freak out on me."
"Okay." I say. And he opens the door.Time freezes. I stare at the boy bound to a chair, who's green eyes widen in surprise at the sight of me.
"For the love of pete please release him." I say quietly. The man standing beside him cuts the rope with a knife. I don't waste any time jumping into his arms."Oh my god." I squeeze him tight. "Oh my god Shane." He holds me tight and I don't think I ever want him to let me go.
"Brie, where have you been?" I hear the pain in his voice.
"I'm so sorry Shane, but I couldn't risk telling you or anyone else."
"Why?" He releases me, but holds on to my hands. "Why are you here with these bad people?" I look back at Jax.
"Can you give us a minute?" He nods.
"I'll be right outside.""Brianna..." I close my eyes, a tear falling down my face.
"The night at the club I got kidnapped by these men. They took me to an auction where there were girls being sold Shane. I got sold to this awful man Dorian Vito. Jax and some other guys rescued me and took me here. I couldn't go back knowing that my dad was the one who suggested me for sale." Shane's face is unreadable."I'll kill him. I can't believe he'd do that." I laugh sadly.
"I'm sorry but I just didn't want you to get involved in this."
"But you are."
"Shane, I'm ok. I haven't even been on any missions yet. It's just, these people are starting to feel like my family.""Ok. I understand." He hugs me. "Do you think I could stay for a few days?" I give him a look.
"What about your family?" He shakes his head.
"They're the most screwed up people on the earth. You are my family Brianna." I kiss his cheek, then take his hand.
"Let's go talk to Jax about it. I promise he's not as bad as he looks." I pause, "most of the time."
