"I want you to sleep with me." I slip out of his hold, looking at him in shock in the dimly lit movie theatre.
"What?!" Jax wipes his hands over his perfect face.
"No, god no. Not like that!" He groans. "I meant, move your stuff into my room." I sigh in relief.
"Ok, ok. Sure." Jax pulls me closer, and we watch the rest of the movie in peace.

Well..... most of the movie.
"What are you kids doing in here?!" Eleonora's voice pierces the air, accompanied by the bright lights of the theatre that flash on.
"Wha? Madre! ¿No ves que estamos ocupados?" (Mom! Can't you see we're busy?!)
"Sí hijo. But you two can't just laze around! We have a wedding to plan here!" That jolts me out of my seat.

"Already?" Eleonora looks from me to Jax.
"Quiers decircle, o debería?" (Do you want to tell her or should I?)
"Brianna. A rival mafia has been close on our tails now, and we need to do something about it. A wedding would guarantee some push back space. Even if it's just for a while." I close my eyes, taking a deep breath.
"Cualquier cosa para la familia." (Anything for the family.) Jax looks at me with pride in his eye.
"Sí, mi amor." I turn to Eleonora.
"Let's get planning."

  ~Two hours later~
I collapse onto my bed. Eleonora made us go through the guest list, twice! We tasted four different types of cake, went through decorations, themes, dates, and times. The only part I wasn't allowed to be in, was the discussion of the honeymoon.

"What are you doing in here?" I look up to see Jax leaning against the doorframe.
"Uh, it's my bedroom?" I sit up, leaning on my elbows.
"No." He states. I sit up fully, glaring at him suspiciously.
"What do you mean no?" All my stuff is here. Jax laughs.
"Look in your closet." I send him one last glance before opening my closet d-
"Where's my stuff?!!"
"I had it moved to my room while we were discussing our future plans."

I scoff.
"Can't you give me a little more space?"
"No." He answers, coming close and wrapping his arms around me.
"I just- I feel like everything is moving too fast for me." I sigh, "I know that I said, for family but, can I not stop to think about myself once?"
"Hey, hey." He caresses my cheeks lightly. "Don't worry, I got the wedding pushed to... the spring." I blink rapidly.
"Why do I feel like there's a but?" Jax sighs.
"We're going to have to... hold back the Russians for a bit. Not exactly in the most peaceful way either." I pull away from him, squeezing my eyes shut.

"Please fell me it's not happening for a while."
"A week today."
"Jesus Jax!" Tears roll down my cheeks. Damn it, why do I care so much?!
"Hey it's ok, it's going to be fine. Do you know how many times I've done these things?"
"But what if you get-"
"I will be fine. Brianna I don't need you to worry."
"I won't," I say realizing something, "because your ace will be by your side."

Jax blinks slowly.
"No. Absolutely not. You're not coming."
"Why not?! And it's too dangerous isn't good enough. You know what I'm capable of." He sighs.
"I can't let you get hurt."
"Please," I say, reaching for his hands. "Don't give me special treatment. I know I can handle it. Plus, I don't even have to be on the ground. I can snipe from above." Jax is silent, pondering my argument.

"If things go bad, you get out of there as fast as you can ok?" Not really sure how I could do that if I was on a roof but... Jax gives me a stern look.
"Oh that was out loud wasn't it."
"I'm serious Brianna." I sigh.
"I know, I'm sorry. I promise if things go wrong I'm out of there." Jax closes his eyes.
"Take the next few days to rest. We attack on Thursday." Thats a day before Halloween. If we win, it's going to be one hell of a victory party. And I really don't want to lose.

I look at myself in the mirror, realizing that I'm not scared even though I should be. A knock at the door causes me to turn.
"It's time." Chad leans against the doorframe.
"Where's Jax."
"At the recon point." I nod my head, and I swear I see Chad regard me in empathy. But his face soon changes back over. "Come on, we've got to get moving."

We hustle down several flights of stairs, Chad shoves open a door to reveal a massive garage with all sorts of interesting objects and cars in it. He presses a button on the wall, revealing a wall of weapons.

"Woah." I exclaim.
"Take these." Chad hands me a sniper rifle, with a silencer, knifes, and a-
"What's this?" I ask looking at the small rectangle in my hand.
"Contains medicine to keep you going for 30 minutes if you're injured. Take it if you're hit. Understand?"
"Yeah."
"Good." He unlocks a slick black Audi.

"Ready?" I sigh

"Ready?" I sigh.
"As I'll ever be."

The skies open with a boom of thunder, rain pouring down on me. I blink away the raindrops, and slightly move the rifle.
"Hey Ace, vision still clear?" I squint through the scope, see Jax facing towards me. And the guy that's approaching him from- I don't hesitate and pull the trigger, hitting the man in the arm that he holds the knife.
"Don't worry about me, finish the j-" static. I look through the scope but can't see Jax any more. "Hey are you good?"
"Oh you won't have to worry him Brianna." I turn around, and everything goes black.

I try to move, and open my eyes but everything feels like its weighed down by concrete.
"Is she going to be ok?" Jax! Yes Jax I'm fine, I'm ok! Please notice me! I try to move my fingers but nothing happens. No come on! I hear Jax sigh, and his foot steps recede. If I was awake, I'd definitely be crying.

What feels like two years later, I open my eyes very slowly.
"Hel- hello?" My throat feels like sandpaper. I try to sit up but am pushed down immediately by a nurse.
"You need your rest Ms. Carter."
"What happened?" The woman looks away.
"That is not important. I will get Mr. Vitolanti."  A moment later, Jax is looking at me in a mix of shock and relief.

"Brianna." My name is a faint whisper on his lips. He slowly moves towards me, and I can see that he's barley slept. His eyes are bloodshot and his hair is tousled.
"Jax," I say, "what happened?" He pinches the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes.
"You were shot, just below your ribs. Thank god it missed any major organs."
"Shot?" I breathe in, shakily. "I was shot."

Jax brushes a strand of hair behind my head.
"After you saved my life."
"I did, didn't I."
"Yes, you did. You're so very brave Brianna, I couldn't live without you." He kisses my forehead. I look at Jax, and knowing without a doubt that I am in love with him.
