It was another two weeks before they let her out. They had to make sure she was 100% okay.
But it was worth it.
She surprised Wanda when she told her.
She wanted to. Mostly she just wanted to see Wanda smile again.
And she did smile. It was a beautiful, pure, amazing smile. A smile that made her fall in love all over again.
That night she slept the best she had in a month. She curled into Wanda and soaked in her sleepy warmth. She tangled her hands in her beautiful long hair, breathing in her shampoo. She wanted to absorb everything about Wanda she'd missed.
The next morning was her favourite morning. Ever.
She woke up to see Wanda propped up next to her on her elbow. Looking at her. Just looking. With a big dumb happy smile on her face.
She pulled her into a kiss.
They got up an hour later.
This was definitely the best morning. She kept close to Wanda all day. Because she wanted to make up for every second they spent apart.
They went out for ice cream.
They went for a walk in a park.
Nat, truthfully had wanted to ask Wanda for a while.
She had the box. It was buried in her weapons box.
She'd painstakingly picked it out.
It had a red stone in the center. Shaped like a heart. Then there were smaller stones, blue. Like her eyes. Clear and blue.
She hoped Wanda'd like it.
Wanda's birthday, and their anniversary, was the next day. Nat had already planned a surprise.
She'd just make it a bit more surprising.
