They'd gotten back around midnight, and Wanda was still awake, resting her head on Tasha's chest, feeling the slow rise and fall of it. She was still mostly awake, as far as Wanda could tell, because she could feel Tasha twirling a bit of her hair around one of her fingers, and she thought she heard the faintest shadow of an old Russian lullaby playing at the edge of her slowing breath.
Tasha had a lovely voice, and it was enough to lull Wanda's racing mind quiet, and put her to sleep.
In the morning, Wanda woke up cold. It was probably her fault, not having the foresight to put her pyjamas back on, but, then again, she hadn't planned on falling asleep when she did. She wasn't too cold, though, seeing as she'd spent all night right next to Tasha, who was like a human radiator. As she lay there, sleep still hovering behind her eyes, resting on Tasha so wholly that there was no discernible place where she ended and Tasha began.
"Good morning, love. How long have you been awake?" Tasha's hoarse voice startled her, thick with sleep. She felt the other girl's loving hand stroking her hair.
She smiled, loving the feeling of waking up to Tasha again, especially after the whole debacle at the movie theater. "Not too long."
"How're you feeling?"
"Tired."
"You went to bed pretty late last night, so I'm not surprised." God, Wanda could almost hear her smirking..
"Smug, are you?"
"Maybe."
Tasha had reasonable cause to be smug, given the events of the night before, but Wanda didn't fight it solely because she was too tired to think of any good arguments.
Tasha shifted so they were face to face, "So I guess we're gonna get married."
"Yeah."
"When do you want to?"
Wanda hadn't really thought about it, but her response was instinctive, "As soon as possible."
Tasha grinned, "That anxious to marry me?"
"Well, I love you."
"Love you too."
Then her face changed, sinking into a more pensive expression, her eyes darkening, giving away that there were thoughts pulling at the front of her mind.
