Nat was even more nervous in the silence of the car. The feeling of Wanda's palm in hers was somehow even better in that instant than it ever was before.
There were a million anxieties flying around in her head, but the biggest one was undoubtedly, 'What if she says no?'
She tried to come off as cool and unbothered, but it was nagging her.
They got to the restaurant, a fancy Russian place, and got seated at a pretty little secluded booth in the corner.
Wanda sat, pushing her hair behind her ear, "Have I told you how much I love this?"
"The place or the surprise?"
"Do I have to choooose?"
"No, Love, no you don't."
"Aw."
*time skip cause I'm lazy you're smart enough to fill in the eating and conversation n stuff*
Nat fumbled with the box. She looked at Wanda sitting across from her, sipping at a glass of wine, "Love?"
Wanda looked up, "Yes?"
Nat took a shaky breath and kneeled, now or never, right?
"The year, or so, I've been with you has been the best time of my life, and God knows where I'd be right now if I didn't have you," Nat pretended not to notice Wanda's eyes flick to her wrist for a painful second, "And, you're undoubtedly the best part of my life. I've never really had anything stable, but now I have you, and I get to wake up every morning to your face, and your eyes, and what I've realised recently, is that I don't ever want to have that with anyone else, because anyone else isn't you, and in light of recent events, even if we haven't been together all that long, I'm in front of you asking you, this second, my love, my life, Wanda, will you marry me?"
