She was exotic and unlike anything I had ever seen before. That took a lot for me to say. I had traveled the world with my family, ever since I had turned eight years old. It was for our protection. We were an unusual family, always together, never too far apart, and always being cared for by one couple or another. My parents were long dead. I had been raised by my great-uncle and his wife, who was also my aunt. That was weird. It was a long story to explain, and if you hadn't heard my mother's you wouldn't understand mine. My mother was a half-sister to the Original Family of vampires, this made her one of them. She was also a hybrid though, like Niklaus, her half-brother. It didn't matter now though, my mother had died defeating the evil that had threatened our family from the start. But, now there was a new threat arising, a threat that was coming back from my family's past. It was the she-devil herself, Katherine. The name left a bad taste in my mouth once Elena had explained to me just a few of the things she had done when she was around. She was supposed to be locked in another dimension with Kai Parker, but they had broken free when Bonnie had started losing contact with Enzo. Now, they were roaming the Earth, free for the chaos they would cause. The rest of the family that was my age was working on handling their powers, I had some control on mine, but here lately they had gotten even more out of sorts. We had stopped aging when we were seven years old. Macey, the one that was a year younger than the rest, had stopped when we were eight. At eight years old, we all looked like we were eighteen. I had been eighteen for a while now and my uncle, Niklaus, had thought it best for us to return to New Orleans a few weeks ago, and we had. The problem was, I had found my mate. I dared not to tell a soul because the bad part was, she was a fragile human. There was no way she would be able to feel the bond that we shared, or be able to survive in this world, especially if Katherine and Kai was lose. I stayed away from her for as long as I could, but everyday I stayed away, it was only getting harder. I needed help.
