It had been three weeks since we had came back to our birth place. It felt like a different world but there was a few things that I remembered. I had avoided the farthest room from the courtyard. It had been my mother's room. I felt that I needed her now more than ever. I made my way down the hall and stopped in front of the door. The room hadn't been opened since she died. I reached and twisted the knob. The door opened slowly and barely creaking. A small layer of dust coated every item in the room. The bed was left made from the morning she had woken up for the last time, the book she had been reading was still laying face down on the page she had stopped on. I made my way to the night stand and looked at the picture that was framed. It was of her and my father. I smiled. I had never seen this picture. Looking around I noticed that there was an old, leather-bound book laying on top of the dresser. I opened the cover to read the first page. This was the pack bloodlines. I saw Hayley's birth name and then Hope's. I also saw my mother's and then mine, along with my father. This was my family tree. I was the rightful alpha to the Crescent Pack. Hope should have been, but when Hayley gave alphaship to my mom, it had been left to me. The few wolves that were left in the bayou were leaderless and I planned to change that. They could already tell that I was back in pack territory.
My family was a little unorthodox. I was kin to people on both sides. My mother was a Salvatore and Flemming by birth, but by blood and magic, a Mikealson half-sibling. My sisters, Nova and Caroline, had been born a long time before me. Nova was born in Paris in 1944 and Caroline was born in Mystic Falls in 1992. I was born in New Orleans in 2017. It was a crazy story, and the best part was that Caroline's son, Dameon, was born a few days before me and her daughter, Macey, was born a year after me. Nova had given birth to her twins in 1964. Her line had long been started before my birth. I had met Nova not long after my birth and watched as her family had started to disperse and leave Mystic Falls. Some had left to travel the world, again, others had left to live a life on their own, and some had stayed. The triplets that were born before me, had vowed to not reproduce until most of the family had died out. That would be for decades, if not centuries, more. We were immortal, and with the luck Nova had in protecting her lineage, it would be a long time before anymore were born. I looked up at the door as I heard a creak. My uncle, Niklaus, stood looking at me. "I know it was hard," he said. He slipped into the room and shut the door behind him. "Not as hard as I thought it would be. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to handle it, but it seems that this room has given me more peace that any other place," I said. Niklaus smiled. "New Orleans and its magic," he said holding his hands up in the air. "Where are the rest?" I asked. I knew that when we were all settled with moving back, there would be no peace around here. "They have gone out, I told them you would be along in a few," he said. I nodded. "Your father and I never saw eye-to-eye on anything, except one," he said. I looked at him and frowned. In the time that I had spent with my uncle, he had never mentioned my father, and when my father's name was mentioned, he would get stiff and become moody. My aunt Rebekah said it was his second regret. I didn't understand. "Your father and I had a clash of interest. The wolves in the bayou were not only his blood. They were Hayley's blood too, her rightful pack. I was born an alpha and so was she. We were supposed to lead that pack. But, your father's line had alpha blood too. When your mother became her true self, she acted in every way a Queen," he said. I nodded. "I almost killed your father one time. But, I knew that if I did that, your mother would never forgive me. She almost killed me over it though," he said. I raised my eyebrows. I had never heard of my mother much, only that she was good and had sacrificed everything. "Please tell me about them both," I said. He looked at me. "Your mother was beautiful. She had long, curly hair that was a dark brown, almost black. One of her eyes looked like the blue sky on a clear day and the other looked as lush as a new-leafed forest with flecks of gold in it. She was a warrior through and through. I still can't believe she is gone. It seems, sometimes, that I can almost catch her scent and then like that it is gone," he said. I smiled. I had never met my mother, or my father, but for some reason, I had this nagging feeling. "When you came back to New Orleans right before we were born, did you get this creepy feeling?" I asked. He frowned. "What do you mean?" he asked. "I don't know, I just feel like someone has been watching me since we've been back. I also feel like I'm supposed to be helping someone, I just don't know who," I said. He frowned for a moment and then he shook his head. "Go on and get out of here. It will still be here when you get back. Go have some fun," he said. I sighed. "I would rather not go out," I said. This time he raised his eyebrow. "There is this local girl, I can't be around her," I said. He laughed. "Young love," he said clapping me on the shoulder. "More like his mate," Hayley said standing at the door. Cami was standing next to her. "Oh yeah," she said. Klaus turned to look at me. "Pack your bags, you're going to Mystic Falls. It's time you met some new people," he said. I frowned. "But I just got back here," I said. "Take the picture of them and your lineage book and get going. Rebekah and Stefan are going to take you now. There is a new boarding school that Alaric and Jo has opened. It's called the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. Their twin daughters, Josie and Lizzy, are around seventeen. You'll just be visiting for a few days. We have to get some things done around here and I want you to stay away from leading the pack until the next full moon. Training will serve you well," he said. I knew that wasn't the reason, but I just nodded. Something was going on and he knew it. I got up and headed for my own room to get my unpacked bags back to the vehicle.
SOMEONE ELSE'S P.O.V.
"Get Elijah and the rest of the adults in here," Klaus instructed. Hayley turned and waited for Stefan and Rebekah to drive off with Wolfram. The rest of the adults slowly came from the corners of the castle and met in the bedroom. "What is it Klaus?" Damon asked. "Wolfram said he feels like someone has been watching him since we got back here. He also said that he felt that someone needed his help, he just didn't know who," Klaus said. Hayley sighed. "He also has found his mate," she said. Everyone in the room froze. "Is she a wolf?" Elena asked. "No, something worse," Cami said quietly. "A vampire?" Elijah asked. "Oh hell, she's a human," Damon said throwing his hands up in the air. "You would be correct. Her name is Luna Lanier," Hayley said. "Luna?" Elijah asked. He looked at Klaus. "Luna, as in moon and a wolf name," Marcel said. "Just because the girl's name is Luna doesn't mean she is supernatural, or hiding anything. I mean this is New Orleans, she might just have weird parents," Caroline said. "None of this can be a coincidence. His mate claims to be human with a wolf name, someone is watching him, and now he feels spirits from the other side. His powers are growing and he can't control them," Klaus said. "So where is he?" Marcel asked. "I sent him with Stefan and Rebekah to Mystic Falls for a few days until we can get this sorted out," Klaus said. "So you sent him, a hormonal, teenage, can't control his powers, tri-breed to a school for supernaturals that is going to test him at every turn because of his blood, his powers, and who his family is? Have you lost your mind?!" Caroline asked. Klaus shook his head. "Where else am I supposed to send him without raising all kinds of red flags? Nova has been calling anyways, asking about him. We have to find out who she really is before he gets back," Klaus said. Everyone nodded. "And keep a watch on the others. If something is after him, it will go for all of them," Cami said. "What did he mean earlier when he said he felt like someone needed his help?" Caroline asked. "His powers are getting strong enough to where he can feel the spirits on the other side. I guess since Katherine and Kai have found a way to cross over, the other spirits have been trying," Klaus said. "She wants to come back and finish it," Elijah whispered. Suddenly Elena fell to the floor. "Elena!" Damon yelled. Slowly, without help, Elena stood up, as if she were a robot. Her eyes were two different colors. "I have to finish what was started. I have to come back. He has to know, only he and Hope can do this," Elena said. But it wasn't her voice. They all knew who that voice belonged too and before they could get over their shock, Elena's brown eyes were back and she was confused as to what had just happened. "Call him back," Caroline said. "Not yet. We need to know what we are up against first," Klaus said. The others finally agreed and dispersed to find their children.
