We had gathered around after Josie had kicked Luna's ass. The female had finally got up and slunk off in the bushes. She would not show herself for the rest of the night, if she was smart. But, I just had a feeling that Luna would try to hurt Josie the first chance she got. Klaus knew it too and so he had vowed to keep watch and make sure Luna didn't bother Josie while this ceremony was going on. "This is just like old times," Damon said. I stared at him. "What do you mean?" I asked. Lizzy and Josie along with a few other witches were hurrying to get the last few things into place. "Comets, witches love comets. I would advise you to stay away from a witch when a rare comet passes. They like to tie their spells to them," he said. I frowned. "Your grandfather was talking about the comet that was used to keep the vampires in the tomb from 1864," Stefan said coming up beside me. "Don't call him a grandfather. HE doesn't look a day over 30," Ric said. He was just jealous. "You were once immortal, oh great one," Damon said bowing his head. "Of course, I forgot that you were once the product of Ester's planning and scheming," Klaus said. "Too bad," Rebekah said coming up to join us. "Can you quit poking at Ric. He has been very helpful," I said looking at her. I had usually let her jabs go and didn't talk to her in a manner of being rude, but with me being on edge, it was grinding on my nerves. She looked at me stunned for a moment and then Klaus smirked. "Looks like our little prince has finally become a King," he commented. His son, Whiet, looked on as he heard his father's comment. I felt bad for the boy in some ways. In other ways I didn't. Even though Klaus was his father and Cami was his mother, Klaus had always given me an extra dose of paternal love. Whiet had been civil and wise from a young age. Something that was thought to have come from Elijah. I glanced over at my uncle. He was all googly-eyed for Hayley. She was in conversation with Cami. Everyone here had their mate, except the rest of my generation. But, I saw the way that Gray kept looking at Lizzy. He was her mate. She didn't know it, not yet, but Gray was fixing to let it be known. Once he claimed her, he would have any right to her. Ric was going to flip when he found this out. I smiled.

"What are you smiling about?" Josie asked coming up beside me. Since I had bitten her, we could communicate using our thoughts, it would only grow stronger the longer we stayed mates. "Only that in a few short hours, after this ceremony, Gray is going to claim Lizzy because they are mates," I thought. She stood there for a moment with shell-shocked eyes. "That means she will turn," Josie thought back sadly. "Not necessarily. She is immortal now between being a witch and having angel blood," I thought back. That seemed to brighten Josie's mood. "We're ready love birds," Lizzy said with a foul tone. She would be so happy when this ceremony was over.

I stepped into the circle they had formed and watched as Hope entered it, standing opposite of me. "Hold each other's hands," Josie instructed. Everyone else took a few steps back from the circle, only Lizzy and Josie stayed, holding hands on the line. "Now, when we tell you too, call out for her," Lizzy said. "Try to bring her here like you do with your dad," Josie encouraged me. I started to close my eyes and think of her, but was stopped when Hope snapped her fingers. "Not yet," she said. She lifted her head and with our enhanced vision, we could see the comet. It was almost directly over us. "Now," the twins said together. I closed my eyes and started to concentrate on what my mother looked like. I heard Josie and Lizzy chanting and I could feel that Hope was starting to twitch. It was the pain starting. I was bringing my mother back from the dead. Suddenly a pain erupted inside of me that I had never known. Josie and Lizzy were doing their best to keep the pain at bay, and Hope was almost on her knees. I pushed forward and suddenly Hope and I were thrown backwards from each other. I looked up and saw Gray had grabbed Lizzy and Josie was laid on her side. She wasn't moving. But, there in the circle they had drawn, stood my mother. She didn't have her wings, but she had all of her glory. She was beautiful and she was alive. I stood up and went to Josie and found that it had just knocked her out for a little bit and that she was already starting to wake up. "We did it," I whispered. Hope was caught by Rafael, a werewolf from the school, and I could tell that as soon as they touched she was smitten. I smiled. Rafael still had to claim her. My mother stood there looking at everyone's faces and then she landed on one in the back of the circle. Her eyes softened for just a fraction and then they lit up. I looked to see who she was looking at and there he stood. My father was alive too. "How did you both..." I trailed off. Her head jerked back to look at me. "My son," she whispered. She took a few steps toward me and then she grabbed me and embraced me. It was a little awkward at first because I was taller than her, but soon I melted and wrapped my arms around her figure.

My half-sister, Nova, was standing to the side. She had tears streaming down her face and Damon was crying too. "You're back," Nova whispered through tear-filled eyes. Caroline stood there watching. She was raised by a different woman, never knowing that her biological mother was someone else. She hung back for a moment and then she stepped forward and hugged my mother as well. "It's still weird," Caroline said lowly through tears and a smile. My mother just laughed. "My family," she whispered. Jackson stood a few paces off giving everyone time. I was his only child. Nova and Caroline didn't belong to him. "Dad," I said dipping my head. "My heir," he said through the choking and tears. He wrapped me in a huge bear hug and I felt at home for the first time in my life. "Miss Josie Saltzman," my mother said acknowledging my mate for the first time. "It is a pleasure to meet you," my mother said holding out her hand to Josie. Josie took her hand softly and smiled. My mother's mixed eyes started to glow. "Take care of my son, Josie. I don't have long. But, while I'm here I intend to make the best of it. As for the title you now carry, as Queen of the Wolves, you must never let your guard down, especially in the coming time," my mother instructed. Josie nodded, but I could tell that she was in deep thought. My mother and father were back, and I intended to keep it that way forever.
