20. Green Light and a Blue Spark

The brilliance of the blue sphere that lay before Kasia's eyes spread immense awe through the Shadow, the silence amplifying its effect. She remained still as many moments passed, her eyes boring into the ball of gas, recognising the mechanisms within the star.

By the familiarity of her Yuran, Kasia could share her energy with the ball, feeling blessed to be able to sense the power of Solis beyond their sun.

The feeling built up gradually as the core of the star heated up, its boundaries expanding beyond the reaches of an ordinary sight. Waves of low frequency travelled to her eyes that captured its fiery, red glow. Time was dilated for the Shadow as the event now seemed to pass so quickly, the green cloud of dust glimmering softly in the dark space. The nebula grew, persisting until its core contracted.

To a small, white sphere.

Kasia's senses now vanished, momentarily recognising the form of her soul. Her memories were blocked by the veil of reality, but the dying star's zeal spread a wise serenity through her. Time was non-existent and space was non-existent for her, as she observed the stars movement through that spacetime fabric.

The white glow dulled as it no more produced the photons, becoming one with the dark space in plain sight but really being a whole different part of it. Such beauty, such solitude did death carry... no fear, just absolute existence for the star. That was how death was; and event to come in its own time, something that should never be dreaded but embraced. Knowledge came with death, appreciation came with death. Meaning came with death, and life came with death. It was only one step for the soul, but a step that should never be called by an individual. Only by time, for then could the truths of the world be recognised.

"It's time for the death of a species, dear Shadow. Only then can their existence be understood, be recognised. This entropy has to come to an end and these souls have to be set free. Do not fear for their end."

"You are right, Vlad. You are absolutely right. However, it is not their time yet. Nature progresses with time and nature decides the end. Death shouldn't be delayed, but it shouldn't come early either. Let it come with time."

"When will that be? Their population is only increasing, just like the humans. The will infect the Land of Tenebris."

"The Land of Destructive Tenebris, Vlad. You added that word in the name. Acknowledge it so that it will go away with time."

An apologetic aura stemmed from the being, accepted immediately by the Shadow. She let her own alleviate Vlad's mind and he found immense comfort in those notions.

"Wisdom comes with Time. Azrael will recognise what has to be done as we progress. I will help him and nature herself will aid him in understanding the situation. These spirits are delicate; even Zephyr now needs time to heal. However it will all happen one day."

"Why do you think I came into existence?"

Kasia took a moment for her thoughts, pondering upon the being's question. She often wondered about it and there were so many possible reasons, but there was one she was certain of.

"I believe you will help us realise what is happening, and you really are helping us. Anger can be destructive and often irrational, but it is what aids us in realising the err of our ways or of the chaos we are surrounded by. Anger is an emotion that is preferred by none, but it is so important to overcome.

"We simply have to overcome nature's rage. That is why I assure you; entropy will be taken care of."

Vlad remained silent as he registered the Shadow's convincing words. However he knew he existed for a reason.

"Only my death can now bring about the beginning of change. Not just to overcome anger, but to release the energy within me. That which Sousconic used for our bond, that which comes from the fabric of our dimension.

"Remember this, Shadow of Tenebris. It is you who has the power to seek and know.

"Remember this."

Suddenly, love filled the Shadow's returning mind and all hatred towards rage disappeared as she accepted that emotion. Hatred stemmed from her love for the spirit of Tenebris and the knowledge of destruction; time and the root of her hatred appeased these feelings because she could help the being. Help the being she thought she hated, but was really the being she could know. Even Vlad realised he did not hate life, but he thought he did as he did not know life. Perhaps he was never meant to know, but only Time would tell him. After all, Vlad and Rage were different. Perhaps Vlad really was the being of realisation...

Azrael hated him for causing pain to his 'sister' but was really afraid of the pain Vlad's knowledge would bring. The Shadow of Tenebris had to reconcile with the Spirit of Tenebris with time, with the same wisdom. The understanding of death.

Their lights would be one again.
