The blue feathers were illuminated under the bright moonlight, soaring among the land's skies. An ethereal gush of wind rustled through the green leaves, reflecting their satellite's glow softly.
The wind began to spin about the black abyss, hovering over the centre of the dark chasm. Ethelred could feel the particles of a lost energy mingle with that of the Wind Phoenix's within the small tornado, as if he truly was present in that moment. The waves of the feeling of hope were powerful, fuelled by countless minds, coming from the infinitely non-existent dimension.
A single sphere of energy was formed, small but holding great zeal. The Phoenix reflected it's golden light in its transparent gaze. The sphere now remained firm in the hold of the abyss's force, only to be revisited by the spirit of the land after three months.
Time quickened for Ethelred as the sight before him flashed, returning to its pace when the time came. The sphere burst into a light of a strength greater than that of the moon, and the celestial object its and the Sun's energy together, reflecting a powerful beam on the Wind Phoenix.
So much vigour, so great was that Wind Phoenexia's energy. A new being, a powerful hope, a price to pay. Enthalpy of nature depletes as it fuels emotions.
Emotions shouldn't exist, they are felt.
As time progressed more beings filled the land, even if they were less in number. Never had any negativity entered the land, peace, integrity and a sense of life binding all of them as one. The zeal in every part of the land was silent but profound, humble with the birth of a being and brightening with their death as the energy was returned, disregarding any emotions felt, for it didn't matter for the nature of the land. Or, it shouldn't. The spirit simply was, there could never be a factor of positivity.
The Wind Phoenexias never left their land and thus their energy was only returned to their home, never their origin of existential cause. Truly ignored, always thinking only about their universe, though no science mattered to them. They didn't realise they were the cause of increasing one world's energy and depleting the other worlds, something even greater than the universe's. The smallest disturbance in equilibrium could cause the existence of something that shouldn't.
In another world the same happened with negativity. The balance on Earth, in Reality remained as positivity and negativity left in equal amounts, but balance was broken; hope and despair were now confused emotions. Were they emotions or simple notions? What was true hope and despair? What was anything, if it didn't truly exist? Dis they have to be known and understood, or simply felt?
Entropy.
When Rage shattered and no realisation dawned, despair made way to the mind. Despair could only hope for 'life' to 'get better'.
Rage escaped and once it acquired its heart and mind, it was flooded with life's questions. Why did people care about thoughts and emotions if they were only signals? What was life, what ensured life? Could something living be made of matter? What was the morality in science and social thinking? What was communication? Why did Rage only thing from the perspective of a single species? What was curiosity? Was curiosity immoral, reaching questionable heights to quench the desire of knowledge? Was knowledge true for those in existence? Was this curiosity, asking pointless questions? Why did Rage suddenly care about anything? Was this the curse of existence?
Forgetting All, knowing nothing. No more realising just that one, just ...
Rage abandoned all thoughts, feeling lost. An emotion could... feel. It knew of only one sort of souls that could help him and thus with its newfound instincts, made its way to Reality.
They have... vessels? What happened to the souls?
Rage did not jump to any conclusions, choosing the path of understanding. It tried to understand, viewing the 'life' of the Shadow Beings... no, the Shadow-Trappers.
It's mind formed a connection with one land, only one of the Shadow Beings. Their leader let the being feel blessed amidst this battle with life... almost as if he were happy for one moment. That he wasn't alone.
Suddenly another act of life occurred before its earthly sight, and Rage lost patience, lost the integrity of time. Rage shattered and it shattered so harsh, his green connection was trapped in his mind and the leader of the Demons was no more in existence. The being was now the Demon Lord, a maiden of this Grey Battle dormant in his chaotic mind. He lost all sense of time, his mind being absolutely chaotic.
Rage shattered, but despair and hope were no more on Earth, and Rage couldn't let any more emotions escape its dimension. It had a sense of responsibility and he would not fail it. He was now the leader of the Demons and he wouldn't fail them. He hoped he wouldn't, but he couldn't hope. He would've felt the despair of such chaos, but he couldn't.
He would've been destroyed with so much chaos if it hadn't been for the entities in his mind.
In that moment a crimson light filled the space, and everything disappeared from Ethelred's sight.
"You are so much like me."
Ethelred knew the words were absolutely true. Ethelred was angry with Vlad, angry for 'enslaving' the beings of his land, but he didn't really feel the rage. He was yet to understand.
"Feeling lost, being the only one for an ancient and strong... feeling, perhaps. You respected time, I respected the integrity of souls. No... I too respected time. A forgotten time.
"However, you react in a different manner. You have the freedom of emotions and you choose to remain silence, while I was an existence of noise. I am sorry, you are yet to experience this. I can only hope what you saw today and what I said will be remembered by your soul when the time comes. I do not wish to feel lost. I am sorry."
Ethelred remained quiet, his thoughts lost at the presence of everything around him. Yet some emotions within him were stirred, speaking for the Shadow.
"I still have to... learn and understand, Vlad. I can make no promises, but there is something that binds us, or perhaps it will, or perhaps it always has. Time will help us recognise.
"I can, however, make one promise."
Ethelred and Vlad could feel that mutual emotion. In that moment, the two gained recognition of the Truth and all of existence mattered no more. For that moment they realised it and as they returned, they felt a welcoming feeling of a strong belief and a strong emotion.
"I will help you go back home, Vlad."
