if you're overthinking about something that's happening in the future, try to stay in the present. you have to ignore the 'what ifs' because that can lead to a lot if stress and your performance, speech etc. can go badly. overthinking can lead you up to doing something not right and then you beat yourself up for it, which is never good, so ignore those 'what ifs', by doing stuff that takes your mind off things.if you're overthinking about something that happened in the past, a project, performance etc. you have to embrace your mistakes. i overthink a lot if i do something wrong in my performances, but i remind myself that i tried my best and that i can improve next time. you need to learn from those mistakes, so you can be better and you'll make others, and especially yourself proud. even if people point out what you did wrong, you have to remember that you're trying your best and no one can be perfect. another reason for overthinking is that your standards are too high, so you need to lower them. you can't always reach those standards, and don't let yourself or anyone pressure you to reach them. you can't always be the best at everything so make sure you were good enough for yourself, not others. you can also write down your thoughts, and organise them so you can feel better.
