this is just going to be a rant i have to say because it's bothering me, so sorry if you expected an advice chapter. but this can also be helpful in some ways so stick around to read.

its sad when you look at pretty people and they bring themselves down, it really makes me wonder how we ended up being sad, depressed teens even though we should be enjoying life and not caring what people say. for us teens, this should be the most memorable part of our life, the most exciting, the one we always want to go back to, not the one we get chills from even thinking about because of how horrible it was. i mostly blame social media for this, and i know there are many more things we are sad about, but social media is ruining our lives.

what can i do to make you happy? what can i do to make you accept yourself and forget about everything forever? i don't want anyone at our young age stressing over so many things. we are still kids and we shouldn't think about other people's thoughts. we are pressured to act older, at this point jojo siwa is having a better teen life than all of us. yeah she's 'childish' but back in the day she'd be the cool, happy kid, and we should probably be like that. we grow up too fast because of social media.

we should be happy with our image, why do we care what people think? shouldn't we be doing things for ourselves? things that make us happy? we should put ourselves first, because we're the most important to ourselves. if you put others in front yourself you forget your self worth. another thing about teens, shouldn't we be going outside more? shouldn't we not use social media? i'm jealous of every kid that didn't have a phone back in the day. our parents' stories are way more interesting than our stories will ever be because they didn't have phones, social media. our stories may seem interesting now, but it also shows how addicted we are to phones, and it shows future generations that you cant live without phones, even though you can. your parents were able to live without phones, so can we. we should hang out without phones, send dumbass letters, i shouldnt even be writing this on social media. i should be saying in front of crowds of people, but then it will be dumb and unnecessary.

we need to something, something to make us more carefree, something that makes our days the happiest days, something that makes us forget all our worries, something that makes us not care about people's opinions and makes us focus on our own likings. but we cant do that because we're trapped in social media. we should communicate through letters, not texts, hang out without phones and take polaroid pictures for memory, listen to music on record players, so we wont go deaf from earphones that we put in our ears everyday. it all sounds boring, oh my god i cant use my phone, but once you actually experience it, it's probably so much fun.

im sorry for this rant but these things get to me. call me sensitive, say im overreacting, but i just think im stating what would be better for us teens, and how we as a community can change it. thank you fir coming to my ted talk.
