intro:
today's topic is a sensitive topic, so if you're not going through this you can skip it if you want, but if you are self harming, stay so you can stop self harming.

causes:
there are many causes for self harming, and there are many ways to do it, but we're not focusing on the ways today or ever. most people who self harm are abused, bullied, lonely, but some that self harm are the bullies. they regret their actions but can't tell anyone or they wouldn't be taken seriously. a lot of people self harm to take their pain away. this is a temporary pain killer and after you realise what you've done you feel even worse, so if you do feel any of these, remember that i'm here, and i love you.

how to stop/do it less:
you have to tell someone, someone you trust and won't judge you for this. it can be a teacher, a counsellor, a friend, a parent, anyone you trust. you can write it down in a diary if you don't feel comfortable telling anyone in person. talking about your problems can make you feel so much better, and don't feel guilty if you think you're putting a burden on someone, if they wouldn't want to listen you wouldn't even be talking to them about it. when you're telling someone, sometimes you feel like your problems fade away temporarily, and i must say it's true most of the time, but in the moment, when your anxiety is low, enjoy life and do things you always wanted to do. i also advise you to put anything sharp or whatever you hurt yourself with locked away. then you can write down the reasons you live for, and there is always something to live for, even if you think theres none. even if it's one reason, it's always something. you can also do something to distract yourself. draw your emotions out, dance like a chicken, sing your heart out, or anything that will get rid of those thoughts. a lot of people can question you if they realise your injuries and you probably come up with a dumb excuse which will probably make you more guilty which means you'll probably self harm. so that's why, you shouldn't, because no one likes being questioned and then lying to the person. and if you do have scars, take care of them and see if you have a way to get rid of them.

outro:
