chapter 7 The New Arrivals

I am now 32 weeks pregnant and you can definitely tell. The nursery is almost done Ryan wont let me help him finish it. He tells me that i should just rest. So ive decided to take a few days on the weekends and go to work. Im still at the social services office doing paperwork mostly. Everyone is so excited about the twins. They will be here in a few months. Its been nice ryan gets up every morning and takes Autumn to school.

Now that the boys are closer all i want abby to do is rest and get ready to deliver these babies into the world. I know she wants to help but me and Zach can handle this nursery. I have to run to home depot and pick up the light fixtures. Abby wants me to get a professional to put them in but be being a independent man im not gonna have some stranger pit my sons light fixtures in. Me and zach are almost ready to but the lights in. Hey Ry dont you think we should call the guy that abby left the number for and let him do it. Zach if there is one thing i know how to do its putting lights in.

Ryan is insisting that he puts the light fixtures in himself even tho abby asked him to. He gets up on the ladder and starts plugging cords in. The other lights in the house start to flicker and then i hear a Zap ah f***! Ryan screams. All the electricity on the whole block goes out. Hahah i told you we should have called the professional to do it.

I get a call from abby i can tell shes pissed off at me. She tells me that shes been getting call from all our neighbors saying that the power was out because i didnt listen to her. Shes really mad at me right now. I cant say i blame her i mean she did tell me not to do it on my own. By the time i get done working on the nursery abby is already in bed shes still mad at be and locked me out of our room. I decide to sleep on the spare bed in codys room. I bring the big fuzzy blanket from the couch up to his room and go to sleep. The next morning i get up with Cody and make breakfast. I hear abby getting in the shower and decided to join her. I put cody in his play pin with a movie on and go into the bathroom to find abby in the shower.

I help her rinse her hair the wash the rest of my body off. I have to work tonight so i get my pistol out and go in the garage to clean it. Its now 12:30am i feed Cody and put him down for a nap. Abby gets off at 6:45 so i get something out for dinner. I decide to make jambalaya. I look in the fridge and see we dont have any sausage for it so i decide to go to the store when cody gets up from his nap. I sit on my lazy boy in the living room and turn the tv on. I end up falling asleep watch criminal minds. My phone rings waking me up. I answer it. It was zach he was on his way to the ER because tanner is choking on a quarter. I rush and get cody up i put him in his car seat and rush to the hospital to be with him. Keirston was at work and he couldnt get ahold of her that why he called me. The doctor got the quarter out of tanners throat bit that he wanted to keep her here for another hour for observation. At this poin its 5:00 they have zach sign some discharge papers then lets us go.

Keirston is gonna kill me when she finds out Tanner was in the ER. She works with a very successful Company by writing books for them. I go home and clean up the house i want it to be perfect for when Keirston gets home. For dinner i made her favorite ziti i stick it in the oven then go give Tanner a bath.
Hello i hear keirston say as she walks in the house.

I get home from work the house is suspiciously clean. At this point i know something is up because Zach only cleans when something bad happens while im away. I walk into the hall way and zach comes out with Tanner wrapped in a towel. Oh hey babe i didnt hear you come in. Zach says. Ok what happened. I say knowing that his guilt will tell me.

Ok so this morning when i was fixing Tanner a bottle she was playing on the floor and started choking on a quarter.  So i took her to the ER because i couldnt get it out and she was having a hard time breathing.
YOU LET HER CHOKE ON A QUARTER! keirston yells i put Tanner down and continue to try and talk to Keirston. Well i didnt mean to i was about to put her down for a nap thats why i was making a bottle in the first place. I DONT CARE WHY YOU WERE MAKING HER A BOTTLE ZACH I CARE THAT MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE ER AND YOU DIDNT EVEN TRY TO CONTACT ME! Keirston yells
I did try to call you i tried to call you twice but you didnt pick up. I say. That why you call the office zach! Ok babe im sorry i say to her while she picks up Tanner. I made ziti for dinner i say. Thanks but im not hungry. Im going to abby's ill be back later. She says as she grabs the dipper bag.......
