chapter 18 Quality time

The next morning i spend over 2 hours on the phone with our insurance company because they sent out a letter saying the won't cover the cost of the repairs needed on the jeep. I finally give the phone to Ryan so he can try to talk some since into them long story short we ended up having to find a new insurance company.

After being on tue phone for 2 hours with our old insurance company i decided to give Zachs insurance company a call luckily it was so much cheaper and since i changed companies in the same day they gave me the first year free. Because i was on the phone for so long i totally forgot that i promised Cody id take him fishing this afternoon but its now almost 3 and my shift starts at 4:15.

I told him that i couldn't take him fishing today. He got mad like every 6 year old boy does and ran up to his room making sure he slammed the door extra loud enough to wake the twins up from their nap. So i as any good father would went up and had to spank him for 1. Slamming the door and 2. For waking his baby brothers up. After a long sturn talk with him i grounded him and went to work.

I was in my way to start a load of laundry. I passed codys room then stopped because i realized that he was crying. I knocked on the door and put down the basket i had in my hand. I go in his room and sit on the edge of the bed and ask him what was wrong. He tells me that he wants to have more time with his dad. I tell him that he will get time with him but that his dad has to go to work so that he can buy him food and clothes. After i tell him that he asks if uncle Zach was home i said yes then he jumps off his bed and runs down to the self proclaimed "Man cave" where and watches wrestling with him. I empty codys hamper and continue gathering all the clothes around the house.

Im in the living room folding the kids clothes and watch TV like i always do when i fold laundry. The twins are asleep in there bassinet next to the couch. Autumn is at a friend's house and im not sure what happened to Cody. A few minutes pass and keirston comes and joins  me and starts sorting out all of the kids clothes. I guess thats one of the good things about us all living in the same house together.

Hey bub what are you goin here i thought you and your dad were goin fishin? I said scooting closer to my nephew. I thought so too but he was on the phone to long and had to go to work. Cody replied. Hey i said your dad loves you and trust me he will take you fishin but today just wasnt a good day your parents are stressed about the jeep and how they are gonna get it fixed. Ok? Cody looks at me sighs and says ok, just then Abby calls out and tells us its time for dinner.

Oh shoot i say looking in the fridge! What? zach replies we are out of milk t say. Ok well me and cody will run to the store and get some. Hmmm i dont know if cody should go after the fit he threw when his father told him they couldn't go fishing today. Please mommy?! he says with i big grin on his face. Ok fine but you better behave  yourself for uncle Zach do you understand me? Yes mom he says. Ok sport go get your shoes on and we will go. Zach tells cody. Ok cody says and runs to the closet where his shoes are.

Ok bub what store should we go to there is Walmart, Safeway or City Market? Walmart! Cody says in excitement. Good choice i need to get auntie k a Anniversary gift anyway. Whats an Anniversary? Cody asks. A Anniversary is the celebration of something like say its your birthday we would be celebrating the day of your birth. Oh i thought it was a vegetable cody says.
