"haewon-ah, wake up. it's your first day at cheongdam high, c'mon." i was awoken by someone. i think it's hyungwon. i open my eyes and see my brother. i groan in frustration. summer is over, and it's the first day of 11th grade, or junior high.
"i don't wanna go to school~" i whine. "you have to. now get ready, c'mon." hyungwon said.
i'm chae haewon, i have an older brother, chae hyungwon, and it's my first day at cheongdam high. i used to study at bora high school when i was in 9th and 10th grade, but i got a scholarship in cheongdam high so i decided to move there. i'm planning to be a singer when i grow up, so i'm in the music department in cheongdam.
i do my morning routine then go down to have some breakfast with my family. after a while of eating, the doorbell rang. "i'll get it." said hyungwon. he opened the door, and on the other side was sojung.
"ah! sojung! i forgot you were coming here." i said.
sojung is my one and only friend. we met eachother in kindergarten, and been best friends since. she's also one of the people who i trust.
"goodmorning haewon, hyungwon, and mrs. chae!" the usual, bubbly sojung said, waving at us.
"goodmorning, sojung-ah. you want some pancakes? we have extra." my mom said.
"no, thanks, mrs. chae. i already ate some pancakes a while ago." she said.
"ok, you ready? let's go." hyungwon said as i finished cleaning up.
hyungwon, sojung, and i started walking to the bus station after eating breakfast.
"hey," hyungwon said. "join us at lunch later, so my friends and i can show you around. bring sojung with you."
"okay." sojung and i said in unison.

"okay, you two take care and enjoy your first day at cheongdam. make sure both of you tell me if anyone's bothering you, i'll call my other hyungs to beat them up, all right?" hyungwon said. "oh, and i'll meet you here at this exact same spot at lunch, got that?"
we nodded before i chuckled. "yah, hyungwon, you're only a year older than us. we can take care of ourselves, and you don't match the dad image." i said.
"and yes, we promise to tell you everything later and meet you in this exact same spot, hyungwon." sojung said.
"okay. well, my friends are waiting for me. good luck on your first day and see you later!"
sojung and i went to get our schedule, our lockers, and the whole "new student" stuff. after a while of talking, the first period started. both of us had the same homeroom, so we went to our first class.
i sat at the very back row, next to the window, and sojung was beside me. students were already inside, and all of them were talking in friend groups and clearly, they all know each other. some of them were even staring at us like we were two intruders coming in their class. all the chit-chat ended when the door opened, revealing the teacher.
"all right, class! welcome back to cheongdam high! as all of you already know, i'm mrs. choi, your homeroom teacher. we have three new students here in this class, please stand up."
wait... three new students? i thought it was only sojung and i, but i guess i was wrong...
sojung and i stood up from our seats, and suddenly, all eyes were on us. "go on, introduce yourselves!" the teacher said.
"u-uh, i'm chae haewon, and nice to meet all of you." i said awkwardly. all of them started whispering to eachother. hmm, probably because i'm the sister of the most popular guy in school? maybe.
the whispering got cut by our teacher. "silence!" she said.
"um, i'm kim sojung, and i hope we all get along." she said, with the same awkward vibe the two of us shared.
"okay! where's the third new student?" the teacher asked. suddenly, the door opened and a student came barging in, panting. "hello?" the teacher said.
"uh, hello. sorry i'm late, ma'am. i'm new here and i kind of got lost." the guy said.
"oh, it's ok! you must be the new student. go find a seat and introduce yourself." the teacher said. the new guy took a seat two seats beside sojung, and sojung started death glaring him like crazy.
"what's wrong?" i whispered.
"wait for it." sojung said, not taking her glare off that new guy.
suddenly, i felt my stomach twist. is it him? no, it can't be... can it?
"hello everyone, i'm hong jisoo."
hong jisoo. it's him again.
