the next morning, as i was limping my way to breakfast, someone already took my seat. it took me a while to notice who it was, but when i did, my lips stretched from ear to ear.
"sojung!" i exclaimed, making her slightly flinch. she looked up, and smiled the same wide smile to me. "haewon!"
she immediately stood up to hug me, but stopped in her tracks when she noticed that i was limping.
"what happened to your foot?!" she asked, worrying.
"let's talk about it later, but now, i missed you so much!" i said, pulling her in a hug.
"hmm, they're really close friends, aren't they?" my aunt said, followed by chuckles.
"ugh, why is it so noisy?" a groggy-voiced and messy-haired hyungwon said while going down the stairs. "oh hey, sojung."
since we couldn't fit at the table, sojung decided to give up her seat for hyungwon, then both of us sat down on the couch to eat.
"so... how's life going without me? it's sucks without me, right?" sojung said jokingly.
i chuckled. "actually, it became better without you." i said jokingly. she fake pouted, and crossed her arms. after that, we burst into laughter.
"but seriously, what's the tea?" she asked.
"i'll tell you later, when we're alone..."

later, at around 3PM, we decided to go to the park. it was a beautiful day, not too cold, but it was kinda like sweater weather. the park was 10 minutes away, so it was just walking distance.
when we arrived in the park, i told her everything that happened in the past week. from the sexual harassment incident, to the jisoo confession incident last night.
"what?" she said, shocked. "you were that girl that almost got raped last week?"
"yeah, that's why my foot is like this." she pulled me in a hug, almost tearing up.
"aww, sojung, don't cry! i'm fine, now, see?" i said.
"i feel so bad for not being there when you needed me..." she said, wiping some of the tears that fell off.
"it's okay, i swear." i said.
"but on the bright side... jisoo confessed to you! i told you he likes you!" she said.
"i knew that he likes me before winter break even started." i said. "seungcheol told me."
the word seungcheol made me break out in a smirk. "speaking of seungcheol... what happened?" i asked excitedly.
"actually... seungcheol and i are-"
"YES!" i said, "you're dating! my baby has grown up!"
she looked at me, as a slight blush crept up her face. "i'm so proud of you." i said.
"yah! stop it! we're just dating! it's not a big deal!"
"yeah, well i like jisoo." i admitted.
"what? really?! i'm so proud of you!" she said.
"yah, it's not a big deal. i only like him." i said, mockingly. sojung rolled her eyes playfully, before the both of us burst into laughter.
"it's funny how you used to hate jisoo, but now you support the fact that i like him." i said, after our laughters ended.
"yeah.." she said, with a slight chuckle.
"oh! i almost forgot, i got you two presents! one for your birthday and one for christmas! let's go home and open them." i said. she clapped excitedly and stood up from the bench. we then started to walk back home.
after that, she opened her presents and thanked me. she gave me her present for me; a box of fairy lights, and a we bare bear plushie.
"thank you so much!" i said, hugging the plushie. "by the way, what did you get wonwoo and taeyong? i got wonwoo a book, and taeyong some headphones."
"oh, i got wonwoo a powerbank, he was complaining to me that he needed one, and i got taeyong a portable bluetooth speaker."
"nice." i said. "how 'bout your boyfriend?" i teased.
"you know, i think it's time to tell you the truth before this lie gets bigger." she said. "we're not dating, he doesn't even know that i like him." i was shocked by those words.
"aww, shucks. i was enjoying my time teasing you." i said, but i'm not really that shocked that they aren't dating.

the next few days were just normal days, nothing much happened except for bonding and fun, until the 30th of december.
i woke up, just like any other day, and limped my way down to breakfast. my foot was still healing, but it's doing better than before. i haven't talked to jisoo ever since the night he confessed to me, and i kinda feel bad for it...
i decided that i'm apologize to jisoo for being so... dramatic. i sat on the chair, making myself some breakfast. i woke up at around 7:00 AM, so i was eating breakfast by myself because i figured everyone else was asleep.
"goodmorning." a voice said.
i turned around and saw jisoo. "goodmorning." i said, smiling. i watched him as he toasted some bread, got some butter snd jam, and made himself breakfast. he looked up, and gave me a weird look. "why are you looking at me like that?" he asked, chuckling.
that's when i realized i've been staring at him for five minutes straight. i snapped out of my trance, and chuckled. "sorry." i said, trying to hide my embarrassment by taking a bite of my breakfast.
he sat across me, spreading some butter on his toasted bread, put some jam on it, then took a bite. "uh, jisoo?" i said, breaking the silence.
"yeah?"
"sorry... about the other night." i said.
"yeah, it's okay."
"you're okay with it? you're not hurt?" i asked.
"of course, i'm hurt. but i understand you, and i don't want to force you into liking be back."
you don't have to force me, jisoo. there's no need for that, because i already like you back. i thought. i just wish i had the strength to say those exact words.
"by the way, happy birthday." i said. how did i know it was his birthday? sojung told me. "sorry i didn't get you a gift... what can i do to make up for it?"
he chuckled. "no need for a gift. why would i need a gift when the best gift is already in front of me?"
smooth, jisoo. very smooth.
